  1. Adding my backgrounds to Starter Mode too

    It would be great if I could add my own custom background to starter mode. I have a classroom and lab backdrop I like to use for my students, and want to keep using them even when I do a quick animation using starter mode (which is perfect for a quick turnaround video the night before I need it!)

  2. My puppet won't show up

    When I drag my puppet to the scene it won't show up no matter what I do and I'm on the latest version.

  3. Pocket version of character animator

    We would love a pocket version of Character Animator, to use on iPad or iphone. There are no programs offering this feature with AI real time animation. Adobe, please create it!

  4. サイクルレイヤーでアニメーションさせた動きをパーティクルで反映させたい

    現状パーティクルで出現するのは静止画だけです。サイクルレイヤーやモーションラインなどで動きをつけたレイヤーがその動きを保ったままパーティクルで出現すれば表現の幅が広がると思いました。ご検討よろしくお願いいたします。

  5. The option to replace assets would be nice

    Coming from an AE standpoint, I am really used to the Replace Footage option and Character Rigging can be quite fastidious if your characters' got all (or a lot of) the phonemes.

    I tried to base my second character on my first one because I was expecting the option the Replace Footage to be there, layers are saved the same way, it's the exact resolution. That would have been saving a ton of work in pre-production.

    Saddly, it's not there... yet?
    Or maybe I am not looking at the good place?!

    Either way, that option should be implemented, I think…

  6. Insert Frames into Timeline

    It would be useful if the user could insert frames into the timeline (similar to Adobe Animate) so that it is easier to edit a recording in the likely event that new dialog needs to be inserted.

  7. Hands "ground" and independant movement

    There's an option to attach the feet to the ground, but it would be really helpful to have hand controls like that too (to a table, a desk, etc.) so it doesn't go all weebly-wobbly during animation.

    Also, having a separate Handle/Behavior for hands would help to follow the movement capture in-cam and help sell the movements and not be only a floppy continuation of the arms.

    I saw a lot of problems too with a 3/4 character, arms are suuuper hard to animate. I've change them from already bent to kinda bent and it kinda fixes things, but to…

  8. Real-time playback

    I don't think you guys noticed this, but I'm sure that thousands of your users have-

    In-app playback in Animate and Character Animator absolutely sucks. How is it that in 2002, you could scrub and play through the timeline as you work and get frame-accurate playback. But now, with vastly faster CPUs, we can't see that anymore and we have to resort to exporting videos and swfs just to see what we are doing actually looks like? You should be ashamed of yourselves at how poorly your apps perform, given the horsepower of modern computers. It's deplorable. What's your excuse…

  13. Starter Mode: Access to triggers outside of recording for streaming

    I just want to say first that I think it's really great that starter mode is a thing, and thank you for making Character Animator accessible! I love the simple nature of starter mode, and I know this will be easier for my friends who don't animate to understand than using performer mode is right now.

    The only thing that I would like to see included in Starter Mode is the ability to use triggers outside of recording a take. This is mostly to do with live streaming, having access to those triggers outside of recording would mean that a…

  14. Pause rendering

    It would be nice if you could pause the rendering during working on the scene. Also, if I pause the playback the puppets are still rendered in real-time although nothing moves on the screen. This causes my computer to slow down and my laptop to heat up massively and draining its battery heavily. If I pause the playback, I also want the rendering to pause. This problem forces me to do longer working sessions on my computer, as my laptop heats up so much that it is uncomfortable to touch the device. (M1 MacBook Air)

  16. give the ability to make puppets in performer mode

    I think that you should give the ability to make puppets in performer mode because some people can't afford software like this and if they could make custom puppets it would encourage using imagination and creativity which is something we have little of these days. but you would make the editor very basic like just have them use like the puppet maker and not photoshop so you could still make money from the premium version which would have full customizability. thank you for your time and please consider my suggestion. -bigoofers28

  17. Hand flip automatically with Limb IK

    I would like the limb IK to automatically determine the correct hand artwork (back of hand vs. palm) based on when the elbow flips. I can set up this manually in replays but it would add a lot of flexibility in streaming applications if I could have a swap set of palm and back hand pairs that Limb IK could determine based on the elbow bend.

  18. I would like to be able to attach or pin one independent layer to another independent layer rather than just the static body layer.

    I would like to be able to attach or pin one independent layer to another independent layer rather than just the static body layer. I would like to be able to build limbs or even body structures that are made up of independent layers chained together, like segments of snake skin all attached to a single spine element. I'm imagining it like a blend on a path in illustrator, only I can now attach draggable handles to that path and animate it.

  20. Bounding Boxes for X, Y & Scale

    I read two other ideas similar, but I think it comes down to bounding boxes, ala Photoshop, with Cmd and Option changing the box points' functions (skew, etc) as in PS. Instead of clicking a layer as in PS, you click the element in the timeline, and its box appears. Including cameras.

    Much more intuitive and fun to use. For CH, I think it would be more intuitive than in PS where you might have 100 layers.

    Related to this, if cameras can't get a bounding box, allowing the mouse/touch controls to affect X & Y coordinates to establish keyframed…
