Are you finding issues with users being unable to export MP4 from CH via Encoder? It's always worked in the past but no luck over the last 3

Walking triggered by keyboard
Hello, if you could wipe out the "walking" through the keyboard, you could use multiple gaits for a puppet. She could then walk normally, walk or walk very slowly. For streaming, it would be easier to give the character more dynamic.
Best regards

New behavior: kneel
Hello, it would be great if there was a knee flexion for the puppets in the behavior. Then she could squat down and pick something up from the ground. This behavior should then start from a trigger so that the "go" behavior can be interrupted. I hope I explained that understandably :)
Best regards

integration with "Adobe Animate CC"
If we could import animations and assets from Animate straight into Character Animator that would be incredible. Is this a feature on the docket? I know you can animate in PS, but it doesn't feel quite as streamlined for the animation process as Adobe Animate.
Also, if we could incorporate tweens, that would be legendary.
Alternatively, if we could just export Adobe Animate files straight to Illustrator while maintaining layers (and finding some kind of solution for timeline animations, maybe distribute to layers and put in folders). However, this feature might be exclusively used for the purposes of integration to…

Hey all,
In the recent release of Animate, under File→Publish Settings→Other Formats→SVG Image (checkbox)→Options, there is now a checkbox “Optimize For Character Animator”.
Using it, you can export an SVG image that Character can import, that will have a layers structure that works well in Character. While you can’t yet export an SVG sequence from Animate, right now you can get the image from Animate to Character with minimal clutter and add rigging to it for performance. Let us know if this is helpful and what you want to see happen next!

Puppet App Player
I sell a lot of puppets, but I, and many other designers, could sell ALOT more if the customer didnt have to sign up for CH to operate the puppet. Bare with me, I have a solution. Its not only the cost, but some people find using the software difficult if they are not use to PC.MAC based programs, many today are use to using simple to load and play apps. What I propose is you build an app player that could operate .puppet files. I am not saying do it for free. Sell it for $50, I can get…

Trigger control improvement
In the control section for triggers, in layout you can drag the icons to where you want, and you can even drag one icon on top of another, but, when you press it, it still only triggers one of the icons. It would be great if you could layer icons on top of each other, and then you only have to press the one to trigger them all at once. The reason for this is because if you create a trigger group, all the actions in that group has to be the same lengh in frames, otherwise it causes bits…

When in the scene timeline mode, add a quick shortcut for dragging on empty space: Right mouse button
As far as I can see I can't find the option to make a shortcut for just dragging around the timeline (similar to the hand/drag tool in Premiere); I saw the "M" thing, but it doesn't seem to be that responsive. It would be sweet if you could right click on an empty space in your scene timeline and that would just drag the entire timeline. Adversely, it could be ctrl+ click, or alt+ click. Just the option would be nice.

Teleprompter Feature - Separate Tab or Onion Skin Over Scene
It would be great to have a Teleprompter feature that prompts the person speaking with a visual text of a speech or script.
This could take the form of a Teleprompter tab or an onion skin over the scene as it's being recorded (that is, the script is superimposed over the scene as it's recorded).
Since I do most of my recordings on an iMac, I could see undocking the Teleprompter tab and placing it at the upper middle of the Desktop, just below there the built-in web cam is located. Or, reading the text as is scrolls by while…

Folders in Trigger Panel
When there are a lot of triggers/swap sets on a puppet, working in the trigger panel gets unwieldy, It would help if we could create folders in which to put triggers already made, just like we can create folders in the Project panel to tidy it up when it gets crowded.

Ability to copy and paste resolution settings when using high res PSD files to record Ch actions in low res
Please add feature where resolution settings can be copied as templates to use in instances where you need to animate with low res versions of bigger files to avoid clipping that occurs with less powerful computers, eg Start with a 4K master Photoshop file, then edit the Scene in 1080p to avoid clipping, then change the Scene settings back to 4K after all actions have been recorded. What we need to be able to copy is the scale size of the puppet, X/Y axis, etc. Not just the Scene pixels ratios.

import video to scene as background
as that user can perform to match the timing of the background video
46 votesSirr Less responded
While the heading of this post is “import video as scene background”, and you can’t just grab any video file to do so, you can accomplish the requests of both comments in Character Animator now. By importing a PNG sequence. Once you’ve turned the video background you want into a PNG sequence, using an encoder/transcoder like Adobe Media Encoder, then, in Character Animator, go to:
File→Import Cycle→
(browse to PNG folder and click on first image of your PNG sequence)
→ImportYou will create a puppet in your Project panel with the name of the sequence folder. Open this puppet in the Puppet panel (Rig workspace) and apply the Cycle Layers behavior to the root puppet layer. In the Properties panel, under ‘Behaviors’, you’ll see your Cycle Layers behavior and an item that says “Start” with a corresponding drop down menu that defaults to “Immediately”. Click on the drop down…

Webcam using my own phone (using Droidcam or IP Webcam)
My webcam is messed up (very blurry because i put on a tape on it before)
I want to suggest if I can use my phone as a webcam. Droidcam is what I use (using USB), I hope Character Animator detects it too although I know that it is not listed in the 'Camera' or 'Imaging devices' in Device Manager.
I am really hoping for this to be added.

Color Blending Mode
I'm unsure why the color blend mode isn't already a thing in the blending modes for CA. It is extremely useful. If there is a true technical reason why it isn't added or can't be added, then I would love to know, it sounds like an interesting thing to leave out. It may also just be a mistake, and it got left out when programing it.
Anyway, I hope the best for the program, I'm having so much fun creating, and pushing it to its limits.2 votes -

As of the April 2019 release, you should no longer have to increase mouth strength for parallax to be effective.

Can we have CYCLE LAYERS be automatically the same way the EYELID behavior is added (by typing it)?
I find that adding the CYCLE LAYERS takes the most time (besides assigning MIDI triggers to multiple hand positions) after importing. It can also be a challenge to explain this to a client when passing off work.
WHAT IF:
In Illustrator or Photoshop, you could just write "CYCLE LAYERS" and the behavior would already be added? You could even give us a letter to add for "hold on last layer" "cycle once" and "when trigger released" [Or give us the ability to change the default of CYCLE LAYERS in ACA].THANK YOU!

Hey all, to the point below, we’ve added search filtering in the puppet panel in the Version 2.1 release that went live on April 3rd, 2019. Check it out!
