  1. Add "Carroussel" shortcuts to Swap Sets.

    Let's say the User wants to mix different animations for eyes, mouths, noses, etc...
    36 shortcuts wouldn't be enough to a task like this. And not everyone has access to a MIDI controller....

    What about adding shortcuts to cycle through the replays/triggers/items from a Swap Set?
    It would work like the "Layer Picker", but on Steroids!

    The user could customize the "Carroussel" shortcuts, like:

    . [A] for previous Replay or Layer.
    . [D] for Next Replay.
    . [S] to Activate the selected Replay / Or have an option to Auto Trigger the current Replay.

  2. Automatically release the Trigger from a Child Group of layers before releasing The trigger from a Parent Group

    For example, the user has a group of Cycle layers,
    some of them are nested inside each other,
    and they are sorted like this:

    . IdleLayerCycle
    . Jumping
    LayerCycle
    . SittingLayerCycle -> SittingAndWavingGoodbye

    If the user wants to go from "SittingAndWavingGoodbye" to "JumpingLayerCycle",
    he has to turn off the "SittingAndWavingGoodbye"trigger,
    then turn off "Sitting
    LayerCycle",
    to finally activate the "Jumping_LayerCycle" trigger.

    Maybe we could have a less painful way to cycle through Nested groups.

  3. Add "Camera Input / Head Position Strength" Property to the "Layer Picker" Behavior

    With that feature, the user could customize detailed Headturns
    or have more control when animating items like headphones or glasses.

  4. Allow user to break the "Head Position Strength" Property from the "Camera Input" Behavior into "Horizontal & Vertical" Strength properties

    This would let the user fully customize and improve advanced headturns (made through stacking multiple Face Behaviors).

  5. Allow CH puppet to create live track inside Adobe Rush (on iPad)

    Related to streaming, it would be great if I could create a puppet on desktop but create a recording using the puppet on my iPad. I can author a video on my iPad using Adobe Rush which is pretty nice, but I had to give up using my puppet as the show host.

    Yeah, this sounds hard. I guess more realistic is creating a video file and uploading to desktop. There is that separate request to allow a video as the background so you can use the timeline to move forward/backwards and animate over the top (keeping the animation in…

  6. Support Adobe Fresco / Adobe Draw for CH artwork creation

    Adobe Draw on iPad and now Adobe Fresco support a flat list of layers - no nesting possible. It would be nice if I can use a flat list of layers and maybe use layer name to control nesting - e.g. “Head - Mouth - Ah” as the layer name instead of grouping.

    This would however require Alfresco etc to support LOTS of layers. I know Photoshop is coming to the iPad - maybe that is the better approach. I just want vector artwork, so I want Illustrator on the iPad I guess.

  7. Make example puppets easily accessible after starting a new project

    When you first open Character Animator you are given a list of example puppets, but it's not easy to go back to that menu after selecting one.

    Have you pressed the little home icon in the top left of your screen?

  8. Being able to copy ALL parameters from one puppet and apply it to another

    It would be great if you could copy and paste all rigging and other parameters from one puppet to another. Say you're creating minions, each slightly different looking from the others, but largely the same. Hours could be saved if you didn't have to rig each.

    And if there were then a couple of issues that needed to be adjusted due to the unique properties of one (say he's only got one eye), that would still be much quicker.

  9. Audio Hardware

    Switching monitors and auddio devices on a mac and pc causes a ton of these pop up boxes. Even when I select do not show again, I'm stuck having to close 10+ of these every time using Character Animator. I switch screens, audio devices (headphones to monitor) etc... a lot, so these add up.

  10. Multiple mic input and camera

    It would be good if you could use multiple mics and cameras within 1 scene, this would be handy if you are creating a talk style show with a generic guest, we could use the audio feed to run the lip sync of a generic guest character while we continue to run the lip sync of our character at the same time. This could be done by bringing in a skype call and allowing the guest to control the character remotely

  11. Drag triggers to timeline

    I would be great if we could drag triggers from the control panel onto the time line instead of having to record each trigger, it gets time consuming when you have to turn off all other recordings just to add 1 trigger.

  12. Preview resolution

    I would be good if you could add a preview mode for animating in CH, so you can reduce the quality of the animation while animating to improve frame rate.

    This is something that is done in After effects and think would work well in CH

  13. Scene resize resolution

    I would be good to make it possible to resize the resolution of the scene and have all elements (puppets and backgrounds) resize to match.

    Currently if you change the resolution, you then have to resize each element individually, if you have a lot in a scene this can be time consuming.

    In the Camera & Microphone panel’s menu (click the three short horizontal lines next to the panel’s name to open the menu), make sure the Pause Camera & Microphone When Application in Background option is unchecked.

  15. The camera keeps coming on and off on Windows 10 v1903. All other camera apps work fine.

    I have a Dell XPS 15 (7590) with Windows 10 v1903 and the camera keeps coming on and off. It will stay on for a few seconds, then the message "waiting for camera" appears for a few seconds and repeat. All other camera apps work fine and the webcam light stays on the whole time. I have the latest version - 2.1.1. Please help!

    If you select the scene in the project panel and hit command+D key, it will duplicate the scene and contents. Is that what you’re asking for?

  17. Illustrator symbols

    Currently layers that contain Illustrator symbols are not parsed correctly in Character Animator showing only one instance and recognising the layer name.

    It's useful to be able to include Illustrator symbols to avoid creating and editing multiple times the same artwork (e.g. eyes, pupils, eyebrows, etc.).

    I hope this is considered as a compatibility feature request and gets added to the backlog.

    That shouldn’t be an issue. Can you tell us more or zip up a project and post it? Regardless of your file type, visemes should be editable.

    Does a keyboard shortcut satisfy your needs? Shift+Command+D will split the take and create a corresponding track for the video and audio portions on either side of your “cut”.

    When the application cannot locate the artwork for a puppet file, you can select the puppet in the Project panel, then click the orange file path in the Properties panel to select the correct/updated location for it.

    Thanks for the feedback on making the process of relinking a little more understandable.
