Fixed size (without stretching, but with the ability to drag) Hands - brachium, antebrachium(Forearm) Foot -femur, crus.
I saw the option "OK hands", but still the character is stretched like an elastic band. I would like to give a parameter forbidding the bones to open: Hands - shoulder, front of the shoulder (forearm), foot - thigh, lower leg.
There were times when the elbow jumped when recording animations across the screen. (ate not put a point on the elbow)
11 votesHi there,
@Иланна Марченко I’m not sure how to answer the question. Placing sticks (bones) in the arm along with tags for elbow and shoulder will allow you to apply a behavior called ‘Arm IK’. Parameters there will allow you to adjust maximum stretch and adjust point at which elbow bends. A wrist tag with a draggable behavior will allow you to drag the arm. Does that help?

Tutorial Not working Properly
This isn't an idea. I'm doing the tutorial (auditions), I have 0 contro over the red monster or the doctor looking guy so far. My camera is on and I am on the top right screen but nothing I do including talking syncs with the character in the tutrial
1 voteRE UPDATE:
RE: ‘my laptop sounded like an airplane’
It’s not uncommon for your computer to use a lot of processor when the camera is involved. As long as your working in a temperate environment on a hard surface, should be able to handle it. But if it slows down, that could be an issue. If you’re not streaming or your process can avoid it, try to have no other apps running that require access to your camera.
RE: ‘When the puppet hears noise without me physcially talking or moving my lips…’
The puppet attempts lip sync when it ‘hears’ any audio, however there is a feature that will only allow it to move lips when your mouth is open or moving. Go to:
Character Menu →Preferences→Lip Sync→Camera Based Muting and set the slider to a stronger position. Usually about mid slider will get a good result. After that,…

We need a full walking tutorial with an emphasis on position. I have issues with character spinning uncontrollably b4 direction change
Need a way to figure out what's happening in the timeline with regard to position keyframes
1 voteIt looks like you have three of the triggers in the Body Position swap set set as latched. Just curious, if don’t make them latched, does it make that momentary view switch no longer occur?
If you’re still having trouble resolving the issue, and are willing to share a copy of the puppet with us to diagnose, feel free to send an exported puppet (File > Export > Puppet) for the puppet and we can try to figure out what might be causing the issue.
Thanks.

Dangle lags / stutters / jitters
I have back hair that is independent. Suddenly it started to stutter. I tried to re-rig the puppet and suddenly it started again. It looks like this: [https://community.adobe.com/legacyfs/online/1663494_Dangle%20Capture.gif]
The stutter is only visible if I move my head slowly. If I hold my head still and then move it fast to another location and then hold still, the jitter is not noticeable.Win10 64, GTX1080Ti, Ryzen 7 1700
[Community Post describing the issue](https://community.adobe.com/t5/character-animator/dangle-hair-jitters-stutters/td-p/10276831?page=1)
1 voteJust curious… is this in Version 3.3? There were some jittery issues addressed in recent versions, so curious if this is something in the latest version.
Thanks.

The dynamic link between CA and AE needs fixing
If the Dynamic link gets corrupted it makes you relink every scene when After Effects opens. But there's a big problem - the order of the scenes is NOT the order they appear in After effects, so you have no way of knowing which order to relink them in. This should be fixed. Please tell the user which scene After Effects is looking for in the Character Animator file when the Dynamic Link window is up.

Provide more diverse and professional examples
I am a professor of art with an MFA in animation specifically. I need to see more examples provided which reflect the competency in figure drawing we encourage students to aspire and practice. Currently, that is not reflected in the examples provided. Additionally, where diversity is portrayed, diversity includes age. By restricting your examples to those that depict generally teenagers and children, you send a message we in art programs in art schools and colleges let alone education and the motion picture industry are trying to change. Individuals and companies are judged by actions vs words. This is one area…
1 vote@Lisa Rose, you’ll get no argument on the diversity front and keep an eye on the blog – https://theblog.adobe.com/creative-cloud/character-animator/ – as we add new puppets. You also can find some less age specific examples in our earlier shared puppets here: https://character.adobelanding.com/puppets/
In regard to the drawing styles, would you be kind enough to post a couple examples of the types of artwork that indicate the competency in figure drawing you’re describing? While we always strive to make people aware of how many styles can be brought into the app, it would help to have the particular perspective to discuss. Thanks!

Home button doesn't go home
When I press the home button CA closes. I reinstalled the program and still happens
1 voteWhat version of Character Animator are you seeing this in? (The version number is on the right side of the menu bar.)
What OS (macOS or Windows) are you on, and what version of the OS are you using?
When you try to click the Home icon, does the underline under the icon not show up?
If you choose the Window > Workspace > Home menu command, does it switch to the Home screen?
Thanks.

Allow user to break the "Head Position Strength" Property from the "Camera Input" Behavior into "Horizontal & Vertical" Strength properties
This would let the user fully customize and improve advanced headturns (made through stacking multiple Face Behaviors).
2 votesThe Layer Picker behavior in the latest version of Character Animator has Camera Input, Camera Mode, and Camera Strength parameters, with Head Position X and Y modes. Will that work?

dont auto fill space when entering visemes
It is very counterproductive and takes up a lot of my time to fix it.
1 voteCan you elaborate a bit? We don’t actually autofill visemes. Are you saying you don’t want them to run the length of the sound (phoneme) in the timeline?

characterizer edit not working
When I create a new character style in characterizer, or attempt to edit an existing one, the brush does not work. Trying to change what is hair, face, etc.. does not function.
1 voteCan you provide more details on your configuration…
- Which version of Character Animator are you using?
- Are you on macOS or Windows, and which versio of the OS?
- Are you using a mouse or stylus?
- So clicking the different brush types (Background, Face, etc.) doesn’t change the selection, or something else?
- Does changing the Brush Size setting change the brush size cursor when hovering over the image?
- Does it not function to draw those regions above the image? i.e., does it not paint the selected brush color?
Thanks.

Arm Movements changing on re-open
Ever since 2020 came out each time I reopen Character Animator all of my Arm movements are completely off. I can post a video for a better example. but the arms get turned around and down. almost like everything was flipped upon re-entry.
1 voteIf you hold down the Alt/Option key while clicking the Refresh Scene button (in the lower-right corner of the Scene panel), does it make any difference?
If not, can you send us a shared link to your project so that we can diagnose the issue? To do this:
1. Choose File > Reveal Project in Finder/Explorer.
2. Quit Character Animator.
3. In the Finder/Explorer window that was opened, archive the project folder (the one that contains the .chproj file, and Ch Data and Ch Media subfolders) to a .zip file. Don’t just send us the .chproj file.
4. Send us a direct e-mail with a shared link (via Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) to the .zip file.Thanks.

Make a tutorial on finding missing artwork files.
Need to re-link missing files.
3 votesWhen the application cannot locate the artwork for a puppet file, you can select the puppet in the Project panel, then click the orange file path in the Properties panel to select the correct/updated location for it.
Thanks for the feedback on making the process of relinking a little more understandable.
Or are you encountering a different relinking issue?

Add "Camera Input / Head Position Strength" Property to the "Layer Picker" Behavior
With that feature, the user could customize detailed Headturns
or have more control when animating items like headphones or glasses.1 voteThe Layer Picker behavior in the latest version of Character Animator has Camera Input, Camera Mode, and Camera Strength parameters, with various Head Position modes. Will that work?

Create a higher quality "compute lip sync from scene audio"
Please create a setting(s) for creating a more accurate "lip sync from scene audio". Maybe leave the current way it's done for people who want it done with the current quality/time, but allow people to choose a much higher quality setting (and let the software run for 10x the current time if necessary). I currently spend many hours fixing the visemes for my dialogue (at least 30 hours for a 30 minute animation). There isn't one string of dialogue that I don't have to fix.
Is this possible?
10 votesIs it possible to provide us with your finished edits and original audio for us to compare what’s automatic versus your edited (desired) output? This will help us train the software.

Bug: Waiting for camera forever on mac mojave
On Mojave (10.14.3), the camera doesn't work: It is "Waiting for camera" forever. The green light next to the camera comes on, but CA stays waiting. I've tried all the ideas found in google searches:
- I can't change to the next camera (there's only 1).
- I have given permission to the camera, and even rebooted after.
- The mic works fine.
- The camera works in other apps, e.g. Chrome (which also has permission, I just didn't include that in the screenshot).Version2.0.1 (Build 8)
3 votesHi Sergei and Doug,
Can you please let us know if you have more details on this? Sergei, we haven’t seen your situation before. Please bring this topic to the user forum so we can dissect it with you there.

richg click on scene and duplicate it :P --- it would be a big feature
sometimes we need compare 2 scenes with some changes, this feature would be ideal for this
1 voteIf you select the scene in the project panel and hit command+D key, it will duplicate the scene and contents. Is that what you’re asking for?

BUG Report: GL Error
Hi,
I am experiencing a GL error when I try to run Character Animator and haven't managed to run it successfully yet. I have attached screenshots to give you more information

[Bug] Edit visemes with .ai puppets
I noticed that I can edit visemes with a .psd import but not Illustrator artwork
1 voteThat shouldn’t be an issue. Can you tell us more or zip up a project and post it? Regardless of your file type, visemes should be editable.

Dragger's return to rest is acting strange since 2.0 update
since the 2.0 update Ive been having a weird bug with dragger arms attached by hinges and how to interact when set to return to rest.
Before the update, they would return to the default position that was set in the Photoshop file. But after the update, the arm straightens out facing in the direction that the dragger has been moved in and after the duration set under return to rest it will immediately snap back to the default position.
This does not only happen on my original puppets but it also happens on the stock puppets as well (I…

Bug Report
This is a bug report. I'm working in Character Animator but cannot get my puppet into Photoshop to Edit even though I have the program open. I've followed instructions to use either control E or Edit Original in the Edit icon but nothing happening. Could you advise any further action.
Many thanks,
Victoria1 voteHi Victoria,
Can you export your puppet and send it to me?
