BUG: Audition crashes whenever I close the Preferences window
I've had Audition crash on me several times today. The first three times, I was attempting to uncheck the 'Show marker lines...' option in my Preferences. Once I exited that window, each time it would show the hourglass next to my cursor, then the program would abruptly crash. The fourth time, I did not change the marker setting in Preferences, but simply opened the Preferences window and then closed it. Same result. No error message popped up before or during the crashes.
Between some of these crashes, I restarted my computer, which did not help.
The crash recovery system did not seem to work properly when I attempted to use it. It told me there were no file assets. Thankfully, I had just recently saved, so I haven't lost anything. I just closed out Audition's attempt at recovering data, reopened Audition, and went to File > Open Recent to reopen my project. Everything remained properly linked to the source media.
It seems that others in the forums have experienced crashes, but nothing that exactly lines up with this one as far as I can tell.
I'm working on a dynamically linked video from Premiere Pro. I'm using an HP Spectre x360 convertible 15 inch laptop from 2019 with 16GB RAM. The processor is an Intel core i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80 GHz / 2.30 GHz, 4 cores, 10th gen. Windows 10, 64 bit. NVIDIA GeForce MX250 as well as Intel UHD Graphics. I'm running Premiere Pro version 14.4.0, build 38. Audition v22.214.171.124.
I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but the Dynamic Link only works properly when I keep both Premiere and Audition open at the same time.
I've submitted this issue directly to the Audition bugs email address, including crash reports, logs, and a screenshot. I also posted this in the Support forums.
