When double-clicking a file in file window to select a file, Audition frequently opens the "Open File" browser instead
Open a bunch of files
Double click the file names in the Files window to select one file or another
Double click about halfway between two files
One of the two files will be selected and its contents will open in Editor window
Frequently the "Open" window will pop up, as if you have clicked command-O to open a new file.
This seems like a minor thing but happens multiple times a day, sometime multiple times an editing session. I know the issue is that my double click isn't accurately on one file, but I'd prefer Audition make a guess as to which of the two files I want to select rather than assume illogically that I must want to open a new file. To close the "Open" window, I must break my flow, and either hit the escape key or move my mouse over to a different section of my screen to find the Cancel button. It unnecessarily penalizes people for working fast. On the other hand if Audition just chose between the two files I was near, it would follow my intent 50% of the time and the other 50% of the time I'd just have to double click again, which is easy enough and more like what I'd expect.
I think I get why this happens -- if I double click the empty area at the bottom of the Files window it opens the "Open" browser window, which seems fine. But this same feature shouldn't be applied to the neutral / ambiguous areas around actual files I might be trying to select.
