Insert new recorded audio at playhead
Would be nice to be able to open a wav file, go to select location with playhead and have the option to record new audio over (as is currently) AND INSERT WITHOUT DESTROYING CURRENT AUDIO... should be a simple thing to do no????
Thanks for the upvotes and good comments. We’ve been in conversations with some of our prerelease and VO users about this functionality and getting some fantastic feedback around design and workflow. Please stay tuned…

Omg it’s so annoying that Audition records over audio that’s already there! This would be so helpful. Sounds like a basic feature to me.

Yes, yes, yes! Please add this. At the moment, I can only simulate this by destructively recording starting at the point at which I want to insert, copying the destructive portion of the sound file, undoing to restore the previous audio, and then pasting the previously destructive audio in at the insertion point. This gets you to the same place as ripple insertion, but man would it be more convenient not to have all those steps. Thanks, Adobe-wan Kenobi.

Yes! Please add this feature

Please add ripple inserting to Audition, as a VO artist who uses your app everyday this would be a huge timesaver!

YES! I've always wondered why Adobe doesn't already offer this feature! PLEASE, Adobe gods, let it be!

WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE with this simple request that is featured in nearly every competitor's interface! Kindly install in your next upgrade. And while you're at it, is there a way to put a lock on presets???

Desperately needed, would make a world of difference to the efficiency of my VO revisions!

YES! I've been saying for years Au needs ripple insert!

This would be great for VO work!

PLEASE! This is my biggest complaint about Adobe software! It is such a hassle to have to record outside of the current file and insert. This change would make Adobe the perfect DAW for VO!

Please consider this enhancement. It would represent a big improvement.

I definitely need this Ripple Insert feature!

Yes, Ripple Insert would be such a time saver.
Twisted Wave already has it and it would be awesome if Adobe would implement this feature as well.

This would be an extremely appreciated addition to Audition and match several competitors that already have this functionality. I would use Audition much more often and even by default if this seemingly simple yet hugely beneficial feature were present.
PLEASE consider adding this to the top priorities for future updates!

Yes! This is a MUST! Ripple insert would be a huge time-saver and add to the power of Audition! As others have already said, when doing long-form narration especially, it's often necessary to work in another editor just because of this feature. If Twisted Wave (a $79 editor) can have it, it shouldn't be that hard to add to Audition.
Steve Haines commented
Absolutely, this would be a great feature to add. It would save a lot of time and make the editing process faster and more intuitive.

This would be FANTASTIC not only for voice actors and voice over artists like myself, but for radio stations and broadcasters as well!
Ripple is an absolute MUST HAVE.
Please, please, pretty please add it in to a future release?!?!!?!
