Insert new recorded audio at playhead
Would be nice to be able to open a wav file, go to select location with playhead and have the option to record new audio over (as is currently) AND INSERT WITHOUT DESTROYING CURRENT AUDIO... should be a simple thing to do no????
The “Insert Record” mode feature has officially released today with Audition 14.0. It adds a new option when right-clicking on the Record button to toggle between “Overwrite” or “Insert” modes, and works with Punch and Roll recording mode as well.

As an University institution, this technique is something we would expect to teach students in sound engineering . But without this feature - well we look elsewhere to show this feature . It would be helpful to be able to show off Audition's features that include Ripple insert.

I would love Adobe to add a Ripple feature that pushes the current recording back while you record the new audio. Similar to the insert record feature on VoxPro. Would save me a lot of time when doing pickups for a client. Really appreciate this and love AA!

Would love Adobe to add a Ripple feature that pushes the current recording back while you record the new audio. That would be a great feature.

YESSS this should be a standard feature. Can’t believe in 2029/2020 there’s a vote for this

Wow, I had never even imagined how useful this would be - until now. And now, I would consider it a MUST HAVE. As a full-time working VO, this would be a very helpful feature, and a useful time saver in innumerable situations.

Dear Adobe, please consider adding the ripple insert feature to the next edition of Audition. Please make a great audio editor even greater!

Omg it’s so annoying that Audition records over audio that’s already there! This would be so helpful. Sounds like a basic feature to me.
Angus Macleod commented
Yes, yes, yes! Please add this. At the moment, I can only simulate this by destructively recording starting at the point at which I want to insert, copying the destructive portion of the sound file, undoing to restore the previous audio, and then pasting the previously destructive audio in at the insertion point. This gets you to the same place as ripple insertion, but man would it be more convenient not to have all those steps. Thanks, Adobe-wan Kenobi.

WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE with this simple request that is featured in nearly every competitor's interface! Kindly install in your next upgrade. And while you're at it, is there a way to put a lock on presets???

Desperately needed, would make a world of difference to the efficiency of my VO revisions!
