Insert new recorded audio at playhead
Would be nice to be able to open a wav file, go to select location with playhead and have the option to record new audio over (as is currently) AND INSERT WITHOUT DESTROYING CURRENT AUDIO... should be a simple thing to do no????

The “Insert Record” mode feature has officially released today with Audition 14.0. It adds a new option when right-clicking on the Record button to toggle between “Overwrite” or “Insert” modes, and works with Punch and Roll recording mode as well.

Fantastic news. Can't believe the timing. I was scratching my head today wondering if I need to stick with Twistedwave or if audition is going to adapt this feature. Such a time-saving feature. Can't wait to see the beta.

Ripple Edit would save a ton of time. Please add this feature so Audition stays as the top choice for radio and VO artists.

A Ripple Edit and Ripple Delete in the MultiTrack panel is a MUST HAVE! I perform sound design for movies with 100s of tracks in Audition. When the Video Timeline changes (adding or deleting video), I need to add or delete time on the Timeline in Audition and therefore desperately NEED a Ripple Edit and Ripple Delete tool.

Thanks for the upvotes and good comments. We've been in conversations with some of our prerelease and VO users about this functionality and getting some fantastic feedback around design and workflow. Please stay tuned...

Hello Team Adobe:
I love Audition. Often makes my life easy as a Voice Over Actor.
But there is room for improvement. One feature I'd love to see is Ripple Inset Recording (RIR) for doing single track voice over recording (I don't add music).
Just today I was recording and several times had to stop, insert space before and after a break I created, and re-record some small mistakes. Over several hours this all adds up.
Even TWISTED WAVE (an inferior product) has this feature! Surely Adobe can do the same....if not beter!
RIR would cut re-cording time for mistakes/miscues by 2/3 to 3/4. This small change could lead to large savings in time and energy saved.
Please add RIR in a future release!

I would like Adobe Audition to add the Ripple Insert Recording Feature. It would save lots of time and allow voice over talent like me to be much more efficient. Thank you.

I found this page by searching the internet on how to do a ripple edit. It never even occurred to me that this was a feature unavailable until now... I'm flabbergasted. It seems so simple.
