Improve frequency analysis framerate (currently worse than Audition 3 / Cool Edit)
The framerate of the frequency analysis panel is pretty bad, looks to be about 20 FPS. Audition 3 (last version with lost of original Cool Edit code, it appears) performs much closer to 60 FPS on the same computer, allowing you to see more detail in the sound over short peroids.
Yes, I've tried different FFT sizes and windowing functions, performance is poor no matter which settings you choose. Yes I have all the latest drivers and the latest version of the software etc etc.
I suspect this is due to newer versions of Audition CC being forced to use the Adobe Creative Cloud UI library, which generally performs very poorly, I dread to think how many layers of abstraction the application code has to drill through before a draw instruction actually happens.
The entire CC UI library is in desparate need of optimisation, try resizing the window of any CC app, like photoshop, and watch in horror as all the panels visibly redraw and struggle to keep up, you could do better with html elements and multiple instances of webkit, I'd put money on it.
I'm considering going back to Audition 3 just for this.
