  1. BETTER RESULTS WHEN YOU COMBINE DIFFERENT FUNCTIONALITIES

For example Audition doesn't combine the automatic volume adjustment (autoducking) when the file has been processed in terms of pitch and/or time into the multitrack.

  2. Remove all clip automation

It would be nice to be able to select a clip or several and reset ALL the envelopes (volume, pan etc) to their default state. Why? Well if I’m getting a file from another editor who’s used a ton of clip automation, it makes it difficult to use the (excellent) Essential Sound Panel Level controls. Plus many times the clip automation is not really useable from an audio standpoint as the editor wasn’t thinking in those terms.

  3. Fader automation issue, BUG report?

When I selected 'write' mode to record fader automation, changing it back to 'read' once completed, no automation was recorded. After some testing I realised that if I use 'touch' to record the automation the fader position was recorded. This can be easily confirmed when looking at the volume keyframes. Is this a known issue in this release (Oct 2018)? In Premiere this works as expected using 'write' mode.

  4. Allow nesting if sessions

    eg

Session1: Interview recording - needs 2nd mic muting when not used (with appropriate fades), eq, compression, level adjustments etc.

Session2: editorial cut of session1, music added etc

Ideally it would also be possible to ‘relink’ the session 1 to an updated version.

    Why?:

Mainly to enable 2 people to work concurrently in a fast turnaround situation but also there are times when the same interview may be used multiple times for different shows. Be very useful to have non-destructive & tweakable cleaned master interview.

    Bonus question:

Are there other DAWs that have this? Certainly some NLEs do.

    (Workaround currently…

  5. Multitrack: Add transitions across time selection

Coming from an NLE background we are well used to ‘add transitions‘ to a bunch of edits (including ‘match frame/split/add’ edits).

    Why? Among many other reasons:
    1. To smooth removal of sections (eg umms, coughs, non-speaking sections of iso mics)
    2. To smooth transitions between levels of clip gain (eg to compensate for off mic sections )

So it’s definitely a very useful thing to be able to do.

IMO Avid media composer does it best with ‘add transitions in to out’ (in to out = time selection) with a dialogue that offers duration of transition, and position (ends at…

  6. Solo override Mute

Very simple: an option to have Audition in multitrack mode behave such that soloing a track will temporarily unmute it. As it stands, soloing a muted track does nothing at all, right? Why not have it actually solo the track instead? It's a pain in the butt having to unmute, solo, listen to it, unsolo it, then mute it again....a hundred times a day. This simple option would save a lot of time.

  7. Add roll trims like Premiere Pro

In PP I can do roll trims that work across clips, so if I have clips 1&2 butted together I can do a roll edit that lengthens 1 and shortens 2 & vice versa.

  8. Auto ducking dialouge interview

We spend a lot of time ducking audio when working with interviews. It would be great to have auto ducking with dialogue and not just against music. The bleed into one interview mic and the other is usually not too bad... I bet Adobe Sense could figure this out cleanly.

  9. Assign automatically track name from file name

When creating an new multi track session, the tracks are labelled "track 1", "track2 ", aso... We have to change these name for good organisation and visibility. Track by track. When you have 35 tracks or more...
It would be a great time saver to give the possibility to automatically name the tracks by the name of the originating file. Up to the user to eventually rename the tracks before importing, but many are often already well labelled.

I’ve seen this request before for when new tracks are generated with a file, but can I clarify that you’re asking for a feature that would rename existing tracks with existing content based on the filename of the first clip added to the track? Would filenames be more useful than metadata, especially for large SFX libraries which may have less descriptive filenames?

  10. Ripple Delete Multiple Gaps

Would love to see a feature that removes multiple gaps between clips. In other words selected clips are pulled together so the edges meet, or pushes them all to the left. The main point being to remove multiple gaps at once.

  11. Group of tracks feature

When you organize multi-tracks, it's a good practice to assign color labels to tracks relative to the same instrument or instrument's family.
We have to do so track by track that can be time consuming.
Enable the possibility to group tracks to assign them a color in one click.
It could be also useful to modify gain of all the tracks of a group in a single click.

  12. Keyboard shortcut to select clip at playhead

Create a shortcut, similar to Premiere, where I can select the audio clip at the playhead. That way I can extract a clip without having to click on it.

  13. [BUG] With snapping enabled multiple clips moved together may lose sync

When moving multiple clips with snapping enabled, clips may get out of sync with each other. Bug has been replicated by other users as seen here:

  14. Move playhead using keyboard shortcuts during playback

While editing a multitrack file I need to quickly rewind to the beginning and In point, resp., to be able to compare two tracks.

For this I'd usually use the keyboard shortcuts <HOME> or <Q> (on my Windows machine). However, none of them work during playback.

Similar situation: I need to quickly rewind 5 or 10 seconds to rehearse a part in the audio. Audition is missing keyboard shortcuts to rewind a few seconds, too.

Please add the ability to move the playhead using keyboard shortcuts during playback, particularly:

    (a)
Rewind n secs (add "n" to Preferences, so the user…

  15. In Multi-track view, export multiple range markers to new files

As in singletrack editor, I'd like to export multiple marker ranges as their own files and automatically name them the name of the marker. I often complete a radio show in one session and want to export the whole show without having to select an individual marker range and export, wait for it to export, select the next marker etc, etc.

  17. Snapping to markers doesn't work. So... fixing that is an idea.

I have snapping turn on, and snapping to markers turned on. It just doesn't work. Screen grab of my multitrack session attached.

  18. Audition should not put audio 17 minutes from the start of a new multitrack session.

I selected two files that I had newly opened in Audition (in the Files pane), right-clicked, and said "Insert into new multitrack session."

For no apparent reason, the audio begins around 16:54 in the timeline, with blank space before that. The playhead was at zero beforehand. Screen shot attached.

  19. Please make Ripple Delete affect Bus automation

Currently, when you Edit > Insert > Insert Silence into a session, the automation keyframes on busses will move accordingly. Great.

But when you Edit > Ripple Delete > Time Selection in All Tracks, automation keyframes on busses will not move accordingly. Not great at all.

    Like so: https://youtu.be/_hq7BsYotrg

If there's some advantage to Audition performing this way, I can't imagine it. But it'd be great to at least have an "Adjust track keyframes when performing ripple edits in busses" option in Preferences > Multitrack.
