Assign automatically track name from file name
When creating an new multi track session, the tracks are labelled "track 1", "track2 ", aso... We have to change these name for good organisation and visibility. Track by track. When you have 35 tracks or more...
It would be a great time saver to give the possibility to automatically name the tracks by the name of the originating file. Up to the user to eventually rename the tracks before importing, but many are often already well labelled.11 votesI’ve seen this request before for when new tracks are generated with a file, but can I clarify that you’re asking for a feature that would rename existing tracks with existing content based on the filename of the first clip added to the track? Would filenames be more useful than metadata, especially for large SFX libraries which may have less descriptive filenames?

Remove all clip automation
It would be nice to be able to select a clip or several and reset ALL the envelopes (volume, pan etc) to their default state. Why? Well if I’m getting a file from another editor who’s used a ton of clip automation, it makes it difficult to use the (excellent) Essential Sound Panel Level controls. Plus many times the clip automation is not really useable from an audio standpoint as the editor wasn’t thinking in those terms.

Snapping to markers doesn't work. So... fixing that is an idea.
I have snapping turn on, and snapping to markers turned on. It just doesn't work. Screen grab of my multitrack session attached.

adjust relative clip gain
'Adjust clip gain' appears to be absolute only.
e.g. select a number of clips, call up properties | 'clip gain' and type +6dB - actually sets them all to 6dB - should be an option for a relative adjustment.9 votes -
replace file
Is there a way to replace a file in the multitrack editor, for example a watermarked music track with the licensed music track?
I work with a lot of temporary music and clients need to hear a "mixed" video before they can approve it. It would help immensely to be able to right click and do something like "Replace with clip from Bin" to keep all the keyframes, effects, etc.

Multitrack: Add transitions across time selection
Coming from an NLE background we are well used to ‘add transitions‘ to a bunch of edits (including ‘match frame/split/add’ edits).
Why? Among many other reasons:
1. To smooth removal of sections (eg umms, coughs, non-speaking sections of iso mics)
2. To smooth transitions between levels of clip gain (eg to compensate for off mic sections )So it’s definitely a very useful thing to be able to do.
IMO Avid media composer does it best with ‘add transitions in to out’ (in to out = time selection) with a dialogue that offers duration of transition, and position (ends at…

Maximise panel feature for keyboards of different languages
Adobe Audition 2019 has a keyboard shortcut that let you maximize any of its panels so that the selected panel fills all of the application view. This feature is triggered with the ~ key. Not every language keyboard has a separate ~ key available, so this crucial shortcut want work. Me for instance, us a Norwegian keyboard and I have to press a key combination of Alt and a ¨ key to write the ~ symbol. This must be sorted out in my opinion, because this is an essential feature for people that uses Adobe Audition.

Allow nesting if sessions
eg
Session1: Interview recording - needs 2nd mic muting when not used (with appropriate fades), eq, compression, level adjustments etc.
Session2: editorial cut of session1, music added etc
Ideally it would also be possible to ‘relink’ the session 1 to an updated version.
Why?:
Mainly to enable 2 people to work concurrently in a fast turnaround situation but also there are times when the same interview may be used multiple times for different shows. Be very useful to have non-destructive & tweakable cleaned master interview.
Bonus question:
Are there other DAWs that have this? Certainly some NLEs do.
(Workaround currently…

Solo override Mute
Very simple: an option to have Audition in multitrack mode behave such that soloing a track will temporarily unmute it. As it stands, soloing a muted track does nothing at all, right? Why not have it actually solo the track instead? It's a pain in the butt having to unmute, solo, listen to it, unsolo it, then mute it again....a hundred times a day. This simple option would save a lot of time.

"Move all markers to nearest edit point"
I produce a political news podcast for an established news outlet. I have multiple markers throughout my session noting the topics covered and important quotes. As I make numerous minor edits throughout my session, the markers become slightly off from the start/end of a clip edit. This has ramifications for Ripple Delete, as some of these markers wind up getting inadvertently cut when I Ripple Delete a section of the conversation,
A feature to "move all markers to nearest clip edit" would fix this.
Thanks.

Keyboard shortcut to select clip at playhead
Create a shortcut, similar to Premiere, where I can select the audio clip at the playhead. That way I can extract a clip without having to click on it.

View master bus / submix bus waveforms
Live waveforms for clip gain adjustment is great for balancing purposes. But they are pre any track effects / subsequent bus effects.
Be great to see a representation in the master track of a waveform showing how the export will appear. Help to catch and soften any peaks - spot any mis-panning etc by eye from the overall timeline.

In Multi-track view, export multiple range markers to new files
As in singletrack editor, I'd like to export multiple marker ranges as their own files and automatically name them the name of the marker. I often complete a radio show in one session and want to export the whole show without having to select an individual marker range and export, wait for it to export, select the next marker etc, etc.

Find clips in multitrack timeline
A search window for the timeline, similar to that in files panel, to search for clips in the timeline.

Ripple Delete Multiple Gaps
Would love to see a feature that removes multiple gaps between clips. In other words selected clips are pulled together so the edges meet, or pushes them all to the left. The main point being to remove multiple gaps at once.

Preference for playback defaulting to "last speed" for editing
I edit podcasts every day in Audition multitrack. I listen to many shows using the lowest "L" speed from the JKL shuttle. For my workflow, and maybe I could do something different, I hit stop, time select area to delete, hit my ripple delete hot key, hit start/play, and then I have to smack the L key to get my playback speed fast again. It would be great if I could just hit play and have it "know" that I prefer to use L based on my last playback speed. It would save me an awkward extra key smash and…

Remove Echo When Monitoring Record in Multitrack
When monitoring record in multitrack mode, especially on microphones, there is an echo in the voice. Changing buffer size does not fix it. All programs like ProTools and even the free ones can monitor record with effects in real-time, with no echo. This is extremely important for broadcast environments. Also see the problem mentioned here:

Autimation works on playback but mixdown.
I applied some eq automations on tracks and master. They work properly during the playback but I can't have the intended result when I mixdown entire session so I downgrade to v11.1.1

Auto ducking dialouge interview
We spend a lot of time ducking audio when working with interviews. It would be great to have auto ducking with dialogue and not just against music. The bleed into one interview mic and the other is usually not too bad... I bet Adobe Sense could figure this out cleanly.

batch processing from multitrack
Is would be an great timesaver for me if I could perfrom an batch export directly from the multitrack editor. Now I have to create an mixdown first. Then export it to different files according to the markers that I've created in the Multitrack.
