ACES 2065-1 flag in OpenEXR files
When writing out an OpenEXR file (either from Ps, Ae, or Me), the required flag is not set in the OpenEXR file that the file is coded as "SMTPE ACES 2065-1". As a result, it is then loaded just as a sRGB based OpenEXR. Perhaps even compressed, also not along the ACES guidelines for this.
That flag is a tiny piece of information in the file, and if provided, I hope it will be also read. So, yes, I have practically two requests.
This information could be taken from the Project Settings in Ae.
I know that many people are just fine with ACEScg or ACEScc[t], but there is no flag required as per ACES documentation, and the use here of the AP1 (ACES Primaries 1) might limit the quality even more.
With hundreds of files in any production, it might be easy to miss it one time. That cannot be very pleasant for the comp artist.

Thank you very much, Christine Goldby. :-)
Thank you for highlighting this issue around the flags for ACES with OpenEXR files. At the moment, After Effects is not fully ACES compliant, but we are working on a better solution. Please stay tuned!
