Bug Report - Fractal effect not working properly in AE 2022.
The Fractal effect (not the Fractal Noise effect) is buggy in AE 2022. It works fine until I try adding another effect to the layer. For example, if I start a new project, create a new comp, add a new solid layer, and then add the Fractal effect to it, it looks fine. But if I add a Glow effect to the layer (after the Fractal effect) the effect disappears.
Almost all other effects will have the same result when used with the Fractal effect, but the bug is inconsistent. So If you have trouble recreating the issue, try adjusting some of the properties of the Fractal effect, after adding a couple effects to the layer. This problem does not exist in earlier versions of AE.
I am attaching two screenshots. The first shows the Fractal effect by itself. The second shows the same Fractal effect, with a Glow effect after it.

This issue has been fixed in After Effects 22.1.1 ( Dec 2021 update ). Please let us know if you continue to see any issues with the Fractal effect after updating to 22.1.1.
Thanks again for reporting this issue,

Hi Noel,
Thank you for reporting this issue. There were some issues with the Fractal effect introduced in version 22.0 of After Effects which have been fixed in the latest After Effects (Beta), which is available in the Beta section of the Creative Cloud app. If you have a chance, please try this again in the After Effects (Beta) build and let us know if you still see the issue. The fix will also be in a future version of After Effects.
Thanks so much,

I have also noticed this, it started occurring about a week ago. Seemingly independent of any updates.
If you go down to the bottom you can check brute force, which will at least allow you to look at something sensible.
But.. unfortunately, this just feels like another thing in after effects that is broken.
