animation preset is not working
hey it's not taken me 20 mins from clicking report a bug to dive thorugh a dozen pages where I've not been able to just report the bug, so marvel at my herculean effort to not FBOMB my way through this 'feedback'
the text animation presets don't seem to be working in latest AE. I'm on mac osx Big Sur. I'm trying to apply the fade up characters preset and it's giving me some error about the null at line 1 isn't an object or something....

hi there John, thanks for response, sorry for slow response from my side.
So your response clued me in to what might be happening.
I use a 3rd Party plugin called FX Console (Video CoPilot/Andrew Kramer) that just creates a little floating box where you can type in plugin names and implement them quickly(as well as a few other useful functions), this has been part of my workflow for many years.
The error is occurring when I try and call the effect preset from FX Console, I just tested it using AE's built in effects panel and it worked, so the problem lies not with Adobe I guess.
So I'll write to VC and mention it to them too. BUT! If you can help them work out what's wrong that would be stellar as the FX Console plugin is a great workflow help.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue. Could you provide more detail on how you are applying the preset e.g. from the Effects and Presets panel or from Adobe Bridge? Alternatively, a screen recording would allow us to see what is specifically happening and would allow us to best diagnose the issue.
