AE 2022 fails to export to Media Encoder 2022
Hello! Since upgrading my Adobe suite to the latest 2022 versions I haven't been able to export my files from After Effects to the Media Encoder. When I'm ready to render I'll go to "File > Export > Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue..." as usual, but nothing actually shows up in Media Encoder's Queue. I've sat and waited long enough, staring at Media Encoder, mentally willing the file to go through the dynamic link that my boss started poking at me with a sharp stick to see if I was still alive... I've had a similar lack of luck exporting from AE to ME in different ways.
I've removed all the third party plugins I could identify and find, but that didn't help either. I've restarted the software probably nineteen times, and have rebooted my iMac several times as well, but alas and alackaday, the problem persists. I've fiddled with various settings in AE and ME, but...
If anyone has a solution to this I'd be very grateful! (At the moment I'm using the "export via AE as a .MOV, import the .MOV to ME, export as H.264" workaround, but that's adding several steps to my workflow.)
I'm working on a Late 2015 27" iMac with Big Sur (v. 11.6), 32 GB RAM.
Thanks very much to everyone who collected and sent in log files. The cause of the issue has been identified as specific to After Effects running on macOS, with a fix now available in After Effects version 22.0.1, which can be downloaded through the Creative Cloud Desktop app. After updating to AE 22.0.1, please restart your machine to ensure that any processes which might be blocking Dynamic Link have been closed before attempting to send any comps from AE to Adobe Media Encoder.
In order to help us distinguish between the Mac-only issue that was introduced in 22.0.0 and other pre-existing issues with sending AE comps to Media Encoder, we are closing this report as “Resolved”.
If you are still experiencing this issue on Windows or after updating to 22.0.1, please either create a new UserVoice post or find an existing one that matches the problem you are seeing. We understand that existing issues with sending comps to Media Encoder may not be resolved for you, but it is critical that we keep the issues separate in order to properly investigate and isolate any failures.
Thank you all for reporting this issue, and we apologize for any disruptions this breakage may have caused,
- John, After Effects Engineering Team
I concur with and echo the sentiments of, the eloquent Mr Wooster. The way Adobe and the video product teams handle development in general, and communication with their users in particular, should be a cause for great embarrassment to them. We do not get value for money.

I know it says specific to Mac, but I'm on Windows and having the same issue.

This isn't solved for Mac (Monterey) with the latest AE update... What can we do?

The problem definitely continues, I can't premiere the after effects project at the moment or export my after effects project with adobe media encoder.
Operating system: Windows 10 Pro

It is NOT specific to Mac. Im on Windows PC and ive has the same issue. It wont connect to Media Encoder or Let me pull projects into Premiere. It just loads infinitely.

I am on macOS, updated to the newest version, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted my computer multiple times and am still having the same issue as mentioned above. When I manually try to add a project to the queue on Media Encoder, I get a never-ending "Connecting to project" message. It still doesn't add the project to the queue when I go through the menus as well.

Guess the dynamic link isn't so dynamic.

Since devs consider it a separate issue, a new thread has been started. Please click those votes (and really, Mac people, please help by clicking too if you don't mind, we're all AE users after all) so we can regain their attention: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911311-after-effects/suggestions/44441427-fix-after-effects-2022-v22-0-1

Literally half of the posts in this thread call out Windows having the same issue. The fix you released might be specific to Macs, but that shouldn't require users to START THE PROCESS OVER in order to get the attention of the developers. Of course we're still experiencing issues on Windows. Maybe instead of expecting users to acknowledge the issue.. AGAIN, how about creating a post on your own, Adobe, linking to it from here, and inviting those affected to join/follow that discussion?

Thank you, the upgraded AE has fixed the problem for me.
As much as the forum admin criticism is justified, it surely doesn't help when people don't actually bother to read their posts. Just because the same problem (or same type of problem) is apparent on Windows, doesn't mean it was the same *bug* which caused it. This fix is quite clearly for the macOS version. The admin even says "If you are still experiencing this issue on Windows" and then tells you what to do.
Support here is already woeful. Don't make it worse by not even reading the things they *do* post.

Still not working on windows 10. Not sure why it is marked as resolved? Plenty of references that stated Windows machines were also effected.

Now that I've updated to AE 22.0.1 the issue is solved for me (on an M1 Mac Mini running macOS Monterey.) :D And the rendering time is super fast! I'm very very glad this has been solved. <3

This is flat out wrong wrong wrong. The issue is on Windows AND Mac. For crying out loud!
This thread is a perfect example of how poorly managed these forums are in general, but the video forums in particular.
Completely inconsistent, scatter-gun approach to which threads get a response.
Long-standing, popular threads that never attract so much as an "Under Review" status.
Issues that could be contained with simple acknowledgements are left to snowball into a chaotic noise of repeated reports, half-baked fix suggestions and plain misinformation.
Why the hell hasn't an admin pinned a quick response here saying something like "We're aware of the issue, quitting the 'aerendercore' process seems to be a workaround for some, we'll be back as soon as we have a better idea of what the problem is and when we think we'll have an update to push out."
That, of course, would require management.
