Memory management that works least a little bit
No matter what I do, no matter how little RAM I assign After Effects to use, no matter how I configure the computer's virtual RAM handling, after some minutes After Effects always grabs the whole 64GB Ram ...AND SOME, so that the whole system crashes or if I'm lucky, I get an "out of memory" message and still have the chance to close some other window to free up some RAM. Sometimes the whole OS gets crippled from this and I have to start all over again, doing a cold reboot of the system.
Having had this problem on 4 different PC configuration throughout over 10 years now.and it cost me hours and hours of time, especially when having to re-boot the whole machine again and again.
Even having the Task manager with RAM overview open doesn't help, because the one second you don't pay attention, AE again grabs some 20GB and poof, the system crashes again.
Even if you told AE to "Let 48GB for other programs" and Windows RAM management to "automatically handle swap file" and what not. This setting just doesn't get honored at all.
So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get RAM management working!!!
