V18 BUG: Mogrt Media Replacement Not Working
I've installed Ae v18 particularly for the new replace media facility in our Mogrts when using them in PPr. I opened one of our Mogrts and dropped an image into the Essential Graphic properties for that template. But on my first attempt to add this mogrt to a library, I had the message below saying it 'requires dynamic link, which does not work with media replacement controls'!? I closed down and this morning I tried again but now Ae is acting like v17.7 and I cannot even drop a graphic into the properties..
Is there something else I should have updated?
This is not a bug. Media Replacement is only supported for Motion Graphics templates that can render natively in Premiere Pro.
If you include certain features like third-party plugins or advanced 3D rendering in your compositions, your MOGRT requires After Effects to be installed so it can render via Dynamic Link. When you export your template, AE will do a check to tell you why your MOGRT requires Dynamic Link so you can make changes to enable it to run within Premiere Pro (and thus use Media Replacement). Aside from Media Replacement, there’s another good reason to tweak your templates to run natively: you will get much better performance!
And a hunch for what happened this morning: you opened AE 17.7. 18.0 is a standalone release that installs alongside it, and they have the exact same icon and splash screen, so it’s not easy to spot the difference. Please let us know if that’s not the case.

I launch my apps from the CC desktop, have Ae installed and I removed the 3rd party plugins.
I have moved a step forward. I logged out of CC, restarted and signed back in and now I can add images to the Essential Graphic properties and export the mogrt to my library...It appears in the library in my CC account as well. BUT, the mogrt does not appear when I open the library in PPr 15. Any ideas?
