BUG - Internet connection speed may cause AE to lock up with INVALID MENU OPERATION msg.
Title says it all, can reproduced 100% of the time by lowering my internet connection speed (i.e. downloads and/or uploads). This is a critical productivity issue that has started occurring today 2021-02-23 and reproduced on both latest versions of AE (had it occur before and after updating the application).

when the internet connectivity is low (especially when files are being uploaded/downloaded) the program "shuts off". no actions are allowed, and even the simplest task of moving the time indicator draws the pop up "after effects invalid menu operation". I have concluded the internet connectivity is to blame since all the other solutions I tried (trashing preferences & cache in various ways, restarting, reinstalling, updating drivers etc) did not help and the problem persisted when the connectivity was low.
please fix this bug

Hi Paul! Here is how I get it:
1 - download/upload files so that the internet connection is limited (large files/updates in my case). You should try with several applications opened (I often have chrome w/several tabs running, Photoshop, Steam, Spotify, etc).
2 - Open AE while step one is ongoing
The main reason why I would see the internet connection as the culprit is that this started occurring this morning when my internet connection was very unstable/would disconnect during downloads/uploads. Updating seemed to have fixed everything up until I started uploading/downloading large files and re-opened AE.
The issue was persistent until I paused all downloads.
I was wrong in saying the issue is 100% reproducible though, it is rather intermittent, but then becomes persistent when it start occurring until I take the aforementioned steps to remedy.
If you need anything else let me know!
I have attached a dxdiag report to this comment in case it might help you out.

Thanks for the report, Martin!
We need a few more details here to really dig in an analyze what is occurring.
Could you please give us a step by step method for everything necessary to reproduce the error?
