Gaussian Blur (GPU) artifacts and quality issues
Gaussian Blur (new GPU based one) has unexpected/poor results compared to the legacy one. Visual artifacts occur in 32-bit mode on adjustment layers, and in general it has a less natural, more blocky look than the traditional Gaussian Blur.

The legacy blur also has a more pleasing/predictable softness to it than the newer Gaussian Blur.

Hi John,
I attached two images of the different blurs. This is just Gaussian blurs on a 16bit EXR in 32bit comp.
Thanks,

Hi David,
Thank you for reporting this issue. Would you be able to post a screenshot showing the visual artifacts you are seeing with the GPU-accelerated Gaussian Blur effect? A comparison with the Legacy Gaussian Blur over the same image would be helpful as well. In doing a quick comparison here, I'm not experiencing any obvious artifacts at 32bpc.
Thank you for any further information,
