After Effects occasionally opens under Mac menu bar with redraw error
it's broken. can't use the menu at all. macOS big sur, latest AE, MacBook Pro 16 2019
Hello @John Colombo, I have this issue once again, and so I returned to this post to see if things had changed. Had they ?
Another thing is : I tried your shortcut to make After Effects fullscreen but it doesn't work. Is this an After Effects shortcut or a MacOS shortcut ? I don't find the item in After Effects menus.
To add to my last comment, I can say that this problems occurs EVERY time you open up After Effects for the second time in a logged session (I mean without shutting down your computer).
So this issue should be considered to be resolved...
Yes, it is very annoying. The shortcut given doesn't work for me.
I have another workaround : go to macOS settings > general > hide/display menu bar. And then you can move the window.
But if you want to adjust the window, other weird things happen, like in this video : if you adjust the top, it shrinks the bottom, and then, you can't adjust the bottom as if it were the max height...
Thank you for reporting this issue, we are able to reproduce it as well and will be filing an internal bug ticket to investigate.
A workaround for the next time this happens: if you use the shortcut ⌘ + \ to make After Effects full-screen, this should bring the topbar back into view. Sometimes you may need to use the shortcut twice, but it should still resolve the problem.
Thanks again for filing this bug,
