Shape trim paths should come after taper and wave operations
Using trim paths, I'm trying to animate a shape stroke that has a taper added to the start and end of the stroke. Taper is calculated relative to the length of the stroke, which AE recognises as changing according to the percentage completion of the trim paths.
This might be what you'd want some of the time, but I just want to animate the stroke like a pen mark being written on. The line left by a pen nib would not be shifting its thickness as it is being drawn on.

Thanks so much James. It looks better. On percent, the tail of my stroke thins out as the stroke completes, but now, on pixels, it is thickening out until the end point. The way it looks now is more natural.
I had a really large number for end length which was meaning that the thickness of the start line wasn't resolved until the end of the stroke and was looking weird.
Thanks for your help.

Hi John. Try setting the Taper and Wave Units to "Pixels". Does that satisfy this request?
