How to combine custom kb shortcut set with new default kb shortcut set (AE 17.5)
With AE 17.5 new keyboard shortcuts for new features are introduced. Is there a way to add my custom shortcuts to the new default shortcut set as it contains new shortcuts for new functionality which are not part of the old custom kb shortcut set?
I’m using the English version with a German keyboard so I remapped quite a lot of shortcuts. I guess there is no easy way to do this …
Thank you!

Dear Tim, thank you for your reply. I already copied the custom aeks file to the new preferences folder but the new commands (like for navigating 3D space) were not part of this file so they were not available in AE 17.5. I did a comparison of my custom file and the new default aeks file to see what has changed. I then went through all my edits and made a new custom file for 17.5. So it was a good thing to evaluate all my custom shortcuts create a new set with the kbsc manager.

There is not a built-in method to do this. The best I can suggest is that you copy your custom keyboard shortcut text file from the 17.1 preferences folder to the 17.5 folder. (Choose Preferences > General and click the Reveal Preferences in Finder/Explorer button, then open the aeks folder.) I'm not 100% sure that the old file will be accepted or upgraded perfectly; worst case scenario is that you can copy/paste your changes from the old file to the new one.
