relink & replace missing fonts for all text layers in project like in InDesign
Just like footage, fonts, too, can sometimes be missing when a project is handed over from one artist and/or workstation to another. In many cases the license for the font is not available and you need to manually replace the font with a similar one by hand for dozens of text layers.
A much better workflow experience would be the ability to replace all instances of one font with another from one central font source panel like you can in InDesign!

Hi Rombout,
All Adobe fonts used in a project will auto-sync when the project is opened as long as the user is connected to the Internet. There was a brief outage in the system a few weeks ago, but otherwise has been working in public and Beta releases.
If the fonts are not a part of the Adobe Font collection or are proprietary in any way, then the font has to be installed manually on any new system to work.
When you open the project in AE, there should be a dialog that pops up to let you know if there are any Unresolvable Fonts (i.e. non-Adobe Fonts) in the project. Are you seeing this?
If not, what version of AE are you using and would you be able to share the project if you're not able to successfully sync Adobe Fonts?
Thanks,

Kinda bafled such a feature is not all around all Adove products which can use fonts. Why?!?!

Premiere Pro already has the Replace Fonts command. It's time to implement the same for after effects.

I just realized this function is missing from AE...After all these years, it's just ridiculous...Please add this function to AE. We have changed our corporate font type but not the project and contents, now I need to replace and change one by one from old font type to new font type...

@liran mentor: Thanks! I may eventually have to opt for a plugin, but I'd rather not. I'm not sure if I can get my employer to spend money on plugins that are just there to save me a couple of (albeit tedious) clicks.
I completely agree with Ben. I really hope this feature can come to AE natively. Good to know I'm not the first to think of this. Especially since it's already been done really well in InDesign, I'd love to see the feature brought over

+1 And it's been a long-time coming! And let's stop relying on scripts, this should be built-in.
When it comes to font and asset management, both Premiere and AfterEffects should take a leaf out of InDesign's book - which was the whole point of Create Suite (and now Creative Cloud). Consitency of experience - Right?
And here are some of the examples of similar requests:
