Drop shadow/stroke not working when 3D mode is enabled on layers
I've successfully tracked a video to add text into it.
Drop shadow and stroke will not show up unless I turn the 3D layer check box off.
I've added drop shadow as a regular effect and as a layer style.
This has to be a bug of some sort, I've done this many times before.
I'm working on After Effects 2020

Great! I’m going to mark this as resolved. The C4D engine lets you do some pretty cool stuff you can’t do in Classic 3D, like extruded 3D text and shapes. It’s worth exploring when you have a minute.

C4D Render engine does not support stroke on text but you can twirl down and add a bevel to it. It looks just like a stroke and you can play with the width as well.

Yes Victoria that was it! I'm not even sure how that happened, I don't even use that render engine (didn't know it existed)
Thank you! -
Sounds like you've enabled the Cinema4D rendering engine. Switch back to Classic 3D in your composition settings, and see if that fixes it. If not, we'll investigate whether you've found a bug.
