Possible bug with timecode override checkbox in a ProRes output module
I suspect a bug in Quicktime Format options when setting custom start timecode (vs using timeline timecode).
"Output Module Settings"> set to Quicktime ProRes422 > "Format Options">"Quicktime Options">"Set Start Timecode" checkbox and customize value.
If you check the checkbox, customize the value, click "ok", reopen "Format Options" checkbox is unchecked and value default.
This is on Windows 10 with AE v16.1.3 & v17.0.0.
Please let me know if this is a reproducible bug, or if this setting is not expected to work with certain codecs, like ProRes422, as I'm testing it with.

Thanks, Paul. I'm glad it was reproducible.
I'd just add that since then I have looked at it with one or two other codecs and it's not looking like it's codec specific (reproduced with ProRes and DNx at least in MOV container). I also spot checked another random container, AVI, that had the option, and it shows up there too. So, I imagine it's just blanket across all container formats that support TC.
As a side note/feature request, it would be neat if the option existed in image sequences that support Timecode written to metadata, like EXR, DPX etc. I know many people will simply be relying on timeline timecode to pass through and few users will need a hard override. But in my use case, the override is useful in a couple instances.

Yes, I see it doesn't work. We are investigating it now.
Thank you for the clear, concise report. It was very helpful.
