Insert or remove time at Current Time Indicator
Back in the Flash days, you've had put the current time indicator of a certain place in the timeline and hit F5 and it would insert frames and push everything after the current time indicator back in time. Hold shift F5 and it would insert 10 frames at a time, pushing everything back in time after the current time indicator. To me it's unbelievable that after effects has no support for inserting or removing time within a timeline. Many times I've had clients want to insert or remove something in a long complicated timeline, and it takes me the whole day just remove all the keyframes and do all the work. It's kind of a nightmare. Current workarounds are kind of a joke. Precomping and then using time remapping is not a solution.

I thought there would be enough demand/common sense to make this a feature in video editing, not just Adobe Animate.
I have what should be a very simple, quick addition, but instead of 90 seconds like in old school Flash etc., this'll take all day with how many layers I have. Is this not a thing in other video editing programs either?

It's hilarious, and sad, that this still isn't available after all those years.

I also find it hard to believe that this is not possible in 2021. Adding or removing time should be an essential feature of an animation program. It's a joke that something like this doesn't exist in After Effects!

Just found this out as well, I can't quite believe that I have to manually move every single clip and composition just to add in more time in the middle? Really?!!

I have a big project with 200+ Layers. I have to go through each layer to insert and shift everything manually! Please include INSERT / DELETE FRAMES!

Please!! Flash does it perfect. I guess being able to select a subset of frames and layers and F5/F6 them in not especially feasible given AE's lack of frame selection, but just being able to insert remove frames for EVERYTHING would be so helpful!!! Totally sucks to adjust timing on anything complex in AE right now...

Totally agree as well! At the moment for several reasons I have to work in a comp with 150+ layers, changing the timing is a real pain. I am also very interested in a workaround, if there is one.

Totally agree! It's inconceivable that a solution doesn't exist when you could do this with Flash. And why does this issue have so few votes? Perhaps this thread is hard to find? I don't understand why this isn't a big issue for more people - I am spending hours adjusting timing in a complex video.
Time remapping isn't a solution for me either because I have so many nested comps already. Plus it's an untidy solution in my opinion as I am already using time remapping on some of them.
If anyone finds a workaround please let me know. I see some scripts online but they are very outdated and not supported anymore. Thanks!
