Selected Puppet Pins in 2019 aren't hilighted in the viewer
In 2019, the position puppet pins and legacy pins do not display any differently in the viewer when selected. When the mouse button is held down to select one, it's possible to see which are selected, but once the mouse is released, the view looks as if none are selected.
Thank you for filing this request.
A change to the appearance of selected puppet pins was made in the October 2018 release of After Effects CC (version 16.0). Please see Joy’s comment on this page about the new appearance with the dot, and how to increase the size of the dot via the Path Point and Handle Size preference.

But if you increase the size of the dot, ALL handles will increase in size. What if you just want to increase the size of the dot? How to do that?

Yes, even though I can see the selected pins now by upping the handle size, it also makes all my mask handles huge... and the selected pins are still not as visible as they were previously.

Why not just keep the old and very visible filled yellow circle? Now ALL handles change size......

Thank you! I just want to note that on a 4k Screen, with default settings, that center dot is less than a pixel and basically invisible. I'd recommend changing up the defaults! Thanks again!

Please notice that there is a small dot in the center of the pin that is selected. If you think its not very prominent, you can increase its size from the preferences. Go to general preferences and look for Path point and handle size. Increase the pixel size there and it will fix your problem.
