Use shapes or masks for text box
A way to customize the shape of paragraph text, similar to how you can have text fill a shape in other Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.
This would be an improvement over exporting from one of those programs into AE because you could then edit and/or animate the text easily.
In an effort to improve communications between you and the After Effects team, we are moving this feedback forum to the After Effects page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.
See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

@tatia rosenthal - you can copy and paste mask paths to shape paths and the other way around too. You just select the path in the timeline panel, hit ctrl+c (or cmd+c on Mac) to copy it, then select the other path value in the timeline and hit ctrl+v (or cmd+v on Mac) to paste it.

while at it, maybe make the paths from a shape layer - copy-pasteable to mask paths and the other way around.

This is so necessary! You can use shapes or mask for text boxes to wrap text around objects in illustrator, indesign and photoshop but not in AE...
Make it happen please :D
