Pay per time used.
Adobe After Effects is described as a professional effects editing tool. Does that mean that I as a basic rare user of this program have to pay as much to use this program as a professional? I do not mean that the program is not worth it, not at all, just that I would like to have the luxury of knowing the program is there for me to use it whenever I need it. Even if that means that I use it maybe on average 2 hours a weak. So was thinking that having the option to buy how much time to use the program or all the programs, let's say ranging from 2 hours a week all the way to 40 hours a week, would be a gamechanger. At least one does not have to make the hard decision of deciding when to buy one month.
I'm not sure this makes sense or not just that I felt like sharing my thoughs.

That's not a dumb idea, but quite the pain to implement this feature for Adobe, and also users that only need it a little bit are more prone to pirate the software

I mean even if one use adobe photoshop just to crop photos from time to time it is still much better then using another program. In this way the more often one sees the program, the more familiar it becomes, thus the easier it is for one to decide to learn more and implicitly use more.
