Align to Key Object
The same function that Illustrator has would be amazing. Select two objects, click on the key object then hit align centre.

Wow - yes. So frustrating! I wish the same tools would work the same way across the creative clouds app - but they don't. So frustrating not being able to align to a key object!

I'd like a few more options, so I'll add them here.
Select say, 6 objects. You want them all to align to one that is already in the correction position, but the options should be say, Left boundary, right boundary, center, or ANCHOR POINT. That isn't currently available.
If you want to get really fancy, you could also add the ability to look at transparency. You may have assets that are all say 400px wide, exported from the same photoshop or illustrator file. But some may be more narrow than their bounding box in terms of transparency.
Regardless of how for it is taken, it is pretty sad that aligning To an object hasn't been added and this has been requested for years. This shouldn't be a feature that is even looked at in User Voice. Someone from Adobe should see this and just add it to be developed.
Also, it makes me angry when people make excuses why it's not there, claiming AE is for animation. Well that's bogus.
I've got things aligned to a line on the left. Now I want them to move some place in the middle, and align to some place on the right. Correct, that's animation. And the start and end need to align. You know what's great for aligning things? ALIGN TOOLS!!!!Maybe you're cool with eyeballing everything. I prefer working faster, and spending my efforts on how the movement works rather than spending time making a guide, then zooming in and carefully placing the objects where they need to go.
