Pin Layer like "freeze row" works in a spreadsheet, to keep it at the top or bottom/always visible
I would like to be able to "Freeze" a layer in the composition panel, similar to how freeze rows works in spreadsheets, where it essentially "pins" the row to the top or bottom of the document. Or in this case, it would stay at the top or bottom of the comp window. Everything else continues to scroll normally "beneath" it.
This would be a massive help for those projects many layers deep but you need to routinely focus on one or more particular layers while moving up and down though other layers and properties.
It would also be a big help for projects that need animated precisely to an audio track; this way you could freeze the layer with the waveform and keep working without constantly scrolling back down to the waveform to find your timing.
Something like this natively available also would alleviate the heavy reliance on 3rd party scripts for layer organization work, which use tricky labeling and complex shy hide/show commands. While something like these scriptUIs should be modeled for a more functional, powerful, and organized After Effects comp window in the future, this small enhancement of pinning a layer to the top of the scroll would help bridge the gap and aide more efficient work.

Yeah! This is a great ideia. Premiere does it.

I agree with Weston. I thought about the same request during scrolling up and down, over and over again thru stack of layers to adjust keyframes to audio layer. Place the audio on the very top/bottom of the composition helps to stay organised but when more layers come to play, feature like mentioned would be a great solution.
