  1. Motion Graphics Template - Drop down lists

    The Motion Graphics Template should have the capacity to add drop down lists in the parameters in order to create more user friendly templates for video editors.

    Having to resort to cursor sliders so as to get more options isn’t optimal. It’s not very practical to use, plus there is often a gap between the value shown next to the slider - a whole number - and the real value of the expressions in after effects - often a decimal number -.

  2. Add Dropdown as an Expression Control effect

    It would be great to have the ability to create a custom dropdown menu to use in expressions. This would be useful for making template projects easy to use.

  3. A fast and robust exr workflow with support for z-depth

    Exr from 3D Renders like Octane right now is bad supported. We need an alternative to the discontinued EXR Plugin. The performance is horror right now. EXR deep pixels are so 2018. So start to take it serious

  4. Multi-core or GPU accelerated reading of EXR frames

    The reading / caching of EXR frames is a very slow process that can easily bottleneck a workflow.

  7. Fonts missing

    Some of the fonts available on my system are missing from After Effects, even after restarting the program several times. This has happened since updating to the latest version.

  8. No Error alerts for new JS expressions

    Hello, I just recently learned that the AE uses Javascript instead of ExtendScript. Is there a reason the Javascript expression system doesn't show errors when something is wrong? Previously in After effects when using expression whenever there was an error, a little caution symbol would appear next to the expression button and pickwhip. When clicking this button, an alert box would pop up telling what the problem is and what line of the code is causing it. I dont get this with the new Javascript system. So when expressions break, I struggle with trying to find the issue in after…

  9. Bug report: "Learn the Basics"-tutorial very unexpected uncaught exception

    I was doing the Learn the basics tutorial and once i reached the step "Animate layers" and "Add visual effects" i was unable to proceed because on the very unexpected uncaught exception.

    Please fix this. The tutorial is otherwise awesome!

  10. Add "Drop-down" and "Radio Button" to Expression Controls

    I'd like to see Dropdown menu and radio button added to expression controls.
    That way, the motion graphics templates in Premiere could use this instead of sliders or check boxes when applicable.

  12. Please implement project cloak!

    Hey guys! Almost a year ago you had Project Cloak in development:

    But we haven't heard anything else from this. Will we get it?.

  13. 3D grid option for custom camera view, like in C4D

    Sometimes in can be hard to orient yourself in 3D space when using the custom camera view in after effects. It would be great to have a 3D grid option on the XZ plane like in Cinema 4D for spatial reference.

  15. BUG: Lumteri Color Wheels don't update in realtime

    In 16.0.1 the Lumetri Color Wheels don't update in realtime when you click and drag. Realtime update (both in the scopes and viewer) is the behaviour in all recent versions of Premiere and previous versions of AE (albeit it was laggy in previous AE versions). These wheels become practically useless if you can't see the realtime impact of the changes you're making.

  16. Scripting Access to property names of EGP properties

    Ideally, this should be an additional argument added to the
    Property.addToMotionGraphicsTemplate(comp) method. As a user adds a property to a motion graphics template, they should be able to assign it a unique name to avoid naming conflicts with like-default-named properties.
    It would be great if it behaved like LayerCollection.addSolid() where you could supply all needed data, and it would return the EGP property object instead of a boolean.

    This feature was added in the April 2019 release of After Effects (version 16.1). You can install this release via the Creative Cloud desktop application.

    Specifically, getting and setting the property names is done through the compItem object. You can also count the number of items. Documentation is here: http://docs.aenhancers.com/items/compitem/

    You can also modify the the name of the property when it is added to the Essential Graphics panel via the property item with Property.addToMotionGraphicsTemplateAs(). Documentation is here: http://docs.aenhancers.com/properties/property/

  18. Position guides by number field

    Being able to add and move guides like Illustrator or Photoshop using the position text area to move them to specific spots. Dragging at specific zooms in order to get the right position is cool but too slow and finicky.

  19. cryptomatte for after effects

    So we're doing complex 3d compositing of a new cartoon and just got into some issues by not having the ability to read the cryptomatte, not urgent but still would be a nice addition.

  20. Add Responsive Design to After Effects

    How about adding Responsive Design to After Effects. Both Time and Space, like in Premiere Pro. That way we wouldn't have to design unique graphic templates for different resolutions. With regards to time, if you create a logo bug with a fade in/out, the user could drag the graphic file out to be as long as the sequence - instead of having to duplicate the file to make it fit.

    Responsive Design — Time is now supported in After Effects, for both AE comps and Motion Graphics templates. You can create Protected Regions anywhere in your composition to lock keyframe durations when retiming.

    I’m marking this Completed to track, but please file a separate request if features like Responsive Design — Space are critical to your workflows.
