It was very useful to use dot button from numeric keypad for puting numbers like 140.3 or smth. Now We have to use dot from main part of keyboard and its a bit pain in the a**.

Hi there. In macOS, there's a keyboard shortcut I use frequently to go to the beginning or end of a paragraph of text - it's from the Terminal. It's Ctrl+A to go to beginning of paragraph and Ctrl+E to go to end.

This has worked across After Effects text fields as well, up until the introduction of the new expression script editor. I understand it's a bit of an edge-case, but I'd love to see this added back in!

When you click the drop down menu in your After Effects timeline (the Parent & Link category) you can no longer use the wheel on the mouse to scroll up or down.

Why?

This error occurs in AE 16.1.1 (Build 4) and Windows 10 17763.503

Users could always use the wheel mouse to do this, please reinstate this command as it highly speeds up users workflow.

A simple way to unprecompose a composition without plug-in.

Just like ungroup in illustrator, photoshop...

The shy button is so useful - but I feel like it's lacking. It would be good to be able to be able to just be able to select a bunch of layers then click a button to solo them. This would be good because you just say grab a bunch of layers - solo them, reclick - select a new group of layers - solo those.

I's really like a toggle switch in the Comp window that acts the same way as pressing the Caps Lock Button, so to disable the comp window from redrawing. This would be especially helpful when rendering. It will speed up rendering while not having the entire system needing caps lock activated. I can't tell you how many emails I had to re-write because Caps Lock was on.

It would make navigating the camera inside a 3D composition so much easier.

I really need the ability to see a layer's source timecode at anytime. Currently, I need to enable time remapping to see a layer's source timecode. I'd like the time remapping readout of the source's timecode / frame number to be always available to view without enabling time remapping.

It would be nice to create a full project report, that would sum up all the assets used, one under the other so we can easily pick out assets that are not in our project folder tree, all used 3rd party plugins,( maybe also the built in ones, just into two seprate report paragraphs) , all the used fonts.
Basically I want a comprehensive list of everything that I need to move over to a new machine to make sure the project opens and renders properly. And no Collect is not an option.

As far as I know, in the Graph Editor there is no option to snap to frame while editing the bounding box (moving multiple keys).
Can you please add it?

Even with the option: 'Allow Keyframes Between Frames" de-selected, keyframes are moved between frames.

This kind of frame snapping works in the standard 'Comp view with layers' by default when moving multiple keyframes (with 'alt' key pressed).

Just created a duration marker (a marker with in an out points), and when I fully zoomed the timeline, whenever I've tride to click and drag to move the outpoint of the marker, it would jump out of bounds, up to a point that I had to zoom out in order to see where on the timeline the outpoint went.

It happens only at zoom levels where you start to see the highlighted frame lenght at the timeline.

The line numbers are a great step forward.
The suggestions pop up tough, is somewhat confusing.
In case of 2 possibilities, it is not clear which one is selected.

This dialog box is no longer accurate. The correct path is Preferences > Scripting & Expressions as of 16.1.1

this is also for all products. for the thumbnails in Ae and Pr just use where you last left open during a save if nothing in view keep the last thumbnail. that way we have something to go by and if you explain that its using what is in view for the thumbnail that will help for people to sort there projects.

Just a simple addition of 'Clear Recent' in the 'open recent' fly-out. Good for shared computers for privacy.
