I found some specific H.265 footages imported into AE/PR partially (e.g. the clouds I marked in the red box) got pixelated after few frames, but the first frame (which I think it is the keyframe) is ok, when you zoon in, you can see the obvious pixelated blocks both in viewer and final output. But it will not happen in DaVinci Resolve nor I exported the footage to ProRes them imported into AE/ PR.

The PSD file is exported from the video, you can zoon in 300% and switch the layer to see what happened.

This issue happens in both Mac OS and Windows, AMD and Nvidia GPU, I think it's an H.265 codec issue.

It is far too easy to grab hold of the wrong value (the anchor point instead of the position value and the other way around) and completely mess up an animation. Usually it takes quite some time to relize the mistake, Most items given different default anchor points by different size, it may take quite a while before realizing the mistake since it's impossible to keep all these values in your head. The only way to save the day is to reset to default values and start all over again loosing a lot of valueble time, and money! Most people I know in this business are working on contracts and usually with a deadline. This would be a great new feature for the values of the Effect menu in Premierer as well.

I work in a studio where we deal with inmense amount of deliverables per project. Localisation differences or just dynamic videos that can have varying shots per asset where an edit itself stays global.

The use of Essential Graphics is a key component for us in order to minimize timelines and iterations as uniques are created dynamically instead of being full duplicates.

The part where our workflow breaks is when we have to deal with takes that inculed voice-overs or dialog that also needs to be swapped.

Currently using expressions to "mute" a track and 0dB the other through stereo mixer effect only functions within the comp it's setup. When you change it outside the comp via Essential Graphics master properties only visual elements change but not the received audio.

I think the Master Properties only checks for visual data changes and not audio which it should!

The other workflow breaking bug/oversight is the fact that Dropdown Menu expressions written in the Master Properties of a comp get removed when you edit the Dropdown Menu's items ie. add more indexes.

We often link a dropdown menu in a comp to the same dropdown menu outside a comp by just parenting it. That expresion deletes itself without warning when you add one more index to the one inside the comp.

This drives me nuts and restricts me from easily changing the Dropdown Menu amount of indexes.

A solution would be to just give an error message similar to if an expression itself has errors without deleting the expression lines! Or a simple warning window popup. I've tested linking a Master Property dropdown with less indexes to one with more and it just keeps working and stays on last available when selecting something outside the range. There's no reason to auto delete it.

I hope this can be fixed fast.

Hi, feature request please. It would be great to improve the link between illustrator and after effects.
- It's actually impossible to get the path with stroke correctly from an illustator's shape layer : the brush is vectorized and we can't trim path it correctly in after effect.
- we still can't transform an ai text to a text layer in ae...
- the gradiant aren't available while creating shape layer from ai file
- it would be great to have the possibility to create bin in illustrator ( as already existing in photoshop) for conversion in AE (i mean one bin in illustrator would become a composition in AE).

I was recently trying to add 22 markers to my comp in order to have various layers moved to the markers for a complex motion graphics project. I wanted to use a keyboard shortcut to move the playhead quickly from marker to marker. This would also allow me to move layers to start at the markers using the left bracket shortcut. After much research I realized one can only use a keyboard shortcut, the number on the keypad, to go to markers 1-9. To me, it's ridiculous to limit this functionality to 9 markers. Lots of people in the forums have lamented this limit. At this point in AE's development, a function like this should have an unlimited number, or at least 1-99. Not, 1-9. Can you please prioritize this functionality for a 2020 update?

OS X, any version. Setting the destination for a still file via scripting to a networked or external drive will result in failed render.

Setting the destination manually works.

and then attempting to manually change it by clicking on the "Output to" in the render queue brings up the alert that the destination does no longer exist and a dialog that points to that precise destination.

If not set manually, the render fails.

It doesn't matter if the path is accessed normally, via /Volumes/ or even by a synthetic link made on the local filesystem.

It works locally without a glitch.

I would like to see ALT+Drag to copy/duplicate for layers in the timeline and assets in the project panel. Its a standard function for the rest of the adobe suite and for some reason its missing from AE. There's not even an alternate function, its just missing. I understand holding alt and dragging selected key frames in the timeline does temporal stretch. so I see why it might be harder to implement for key frames without upsetting current functions. But, this seems to be a missing feature that would be widely appreciated for those of us that use the wider adobe tool set.
