  1. Hi CPU Usage at ilde in version 2022

    Since I update to version 2022 AE always push the CPU to the maximum when i open file without doing any action, and this cause the fun to run to the maximum also, and on activity monitor it show AE use 300% CPU. and this happen in 2 different MAC devices, iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, Radeon Pro 580 8 GB Mac OS big sur, and macbook pro, i7 with Mac OS big sur
    right now I just roll back to the previous version,

  2. After Effects 2021/2022 Export Slower Than CS5 with PSD Footage

    Not sure if this is because of the upconverted AEP project file from CS5 or because of After Effects CC actually rendering slower, but I had a project started in CS5 take over 2x longer to render out in CC 2021 at 5 hours instead of 1.5 hours. I thought maybe an update to CC 2022 would help, but then the same project file ended up taking 13 hours instead.

    Switched computers just in case and the results were the same. The project is pretty simple - just a PSD with layers broken out and slightly randomized movement for that…

  3. the latest version of AE (22.1.1 build 74) does not sync audio with time scrubber.

    currently AE is showing the time scrubber out of sync with audio when played using just the audio playback option. This is a deal breaker bug.

  4. Roto Brush

    Roto Brush freezes composition after applying edges and clicking on the freeze button to track edges. Then a pop-up saying "After Effects waring: Unknown Exception." I've been trying to work a project for 2 hrs and same results. Even uninstalled and re-installed, no changes. I have 32 gb of ram and a rtx 3070. I'm even running the footage at half res.

  5. Create a "render" command like Premiere Pro

    Rendering in After Effects requires playing the video so the CPU and GPU have to simultaneously display and render the project. In Premiere Pro, there is a "Render" command that allows rendering without displaying the video. It is a lot faster than AE.

  6. Why can't we turn of "Speculative Preview" option - AE 2022

    I tried the "Speculative Preview" option and it seemed like a great feature .. but the I realized that it is eating RAMs on background .. which means if I am checking my mail -for an instance- AE will take all the available ram to make idle rendering, and that causes a lot of lags and freezes in my windows
    so simply put a "turn of" button for those who doesn't want the option .. or an option to limit its access to RAMs

  8. Terrible performance

    After Effects 2022 is the slowest version launched. Freezes a lot, the preview is unbearable even on light compositions (i7-6800k, Geforce 1070 8g, 64gb RAM, 2 SSDs (one for the software, one entirely for cache).

  9. Multiframe rendering checkbox in Preview Panel

    Multiframe rendering is necessery, ok nice, BUT if this option is turn-on, another app die. Example Blender.
    We don't need (in my case) every time this option ON. I usally use for preview and somethimes for render. Easy way for turn On and Off this functionality is add the same checkbox in Preview panel.
    Another update try to use GPU performance.

  10. Bug report: "Undo group mismatch, will attempt to fix"

    Getting this bug almost daily. It does not seem to be triggered by any specific action. The alert "Undo group mismatch, will attempt to fix" pops up and multiple recent steps are undone, so I've lost a few minutes of work. I've enabled logging and will upload a log file next time it happens. It may be related to the GeoLayers plugin as it started happening after I installed the plugin recently.

    GPU utilization too low while working.I want you to use about 80% of the whole.

    GPUの使用率が低すぎるので70~80%ぐらいは常に使う様に処理を改善して欲しい。現状ではかなり使用率が低すぎる。

  12. Multi Frame Rendering slowing down machine

    Working on a 2.5 minute timeline, lots of layers, but very powerful machine, 128gb ram, 4 GFX cards, i9-9940X CPU -- green ram preview bars would appear, but playback would be impossibly slow, even on playback of just text on the screen. I went and turned MFR off and instantly was able to use my project again. :shrugging-emoji: Can't share file due to IP but... yeah this was not good. I was losing my mind and on deadline.

  13. multi frame rendering - number of threads

    In MFR preferences let us set how many threads/cores MFR uses. I've found that on a 24core machine reducing affinity to just half the cores, makes the render ryn just as fast but with half resources - would be nice to be able to set how much cores MFR is able to use - you know, to leave some for other operations - right now MFR takes up 100% of all cores, and like I said, part of that performance is wasted anyway.

  14. Windows 11 + AE unusable

    So I had to work on an older project which needed updating.

    On booting up and opening the project in after effects, it took over 2 minutes just to render the preview, at half quality. The same for any changes made to the project, such as (but not limited to);

    • toggling layer visibility

    • creating new simple layers such as solids or just text

    • deleting layers

    After even allowing an Adobe mission to have a look via remote access but they could see the problem for themselves and look at all the settings or after effects and even stuff like my…

  16. Roto brush propagation is much slower in 18.4.1 version

    Propagation slows down drastically as it goes, and after a couple seconds worth of footage rendering, it basically stops and becomes unusable. Using default settings when roto is applied.

    After rolling back to Ae 18.1, propagation is literally thousands of times faster. On my system it will propagate a 30sec clip in a couple minutes. Still slows down over time, but something is happening in the new versions of Ae that it gets hung up on very quickly. System specs are attached below.

  17. JavaScript engine slower than ExtendScript (legacy) AE2022

    I realized a massive performance drop, when using JavaScript engine
    and using .speed in expressions. Ram preview took 4 x longer with JavaScript Engine than with ExtendScript Engine.

    Version 22.2.0 (Build 120)

    MacOS Monterey 12.2
    2,9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
    Radeon Pro 460 4 GB

  18. After Effects 2020 is very slow please help

    Hello,
    I am using AAE 2020. Preview is very slow, i am trying to use simple template like Europe Map Toolkit from video hive and its paint full slow. Maybe you can say where is my bottleneck?
    My specification:
    48GB ram
    AMD ryzen 5 3600
    GPU nvidia 980
    motherboard with x570 chip
    I know gpu is not supperted, but i marked use CUDA.

  19. After Effects (and Media Encoder) RAM not freed after project closed (specially with javascript expression engine)

    UPDATE : This problem seems to happen mainly with the javascript expression engine (and not the legacy extendscript expression engine)

    We've noticed a weird RAM behavior in After Effects 2020 (17.5.1 - Build 47) and Media Encoder (14.0.1 - Build 70). When closing and opening a project multiple times, After Effects’ RAM usage is continuously growing especially when the project contains expressions (even the simplest one).   20. After Effect 점점 느려짐 현상

    After Effect 에서 랜더링을 하려고 하였지만 초반에는 빠르다가 점점 느려지는 현상이 생겼습니다
    또한 처음에는 컴퓨터의 팬이 많이 돌지만, 가면 갈수록 팬이 돌지 않습니다
    이 현상은 Media Encoder 에서도 발생합니다
    주로 이 현상은 긴 영상에서 발생하며, 간단한 작업에서도 발생합니다
