How great would it be to have the ability to create Aliases (or Instances) of Layers?
These Layers (with the name Italized) should dynamically reflect the exact RGBA content of their original.

Would save a lot of copying, expressions etc. And would be a nice hybrid of node based and layer based compositing.

Please support it back or provide some info in the doc to explain why this option was removed ?

What if we could drag the pickwhip to a keyframe and get a reference to it in an expression? For example:

Every time I have an Illustrator shape on the clipboard, After Effects displays the "Cannot Parse Shape on Clipboard." I'm not trying to paste anything into AE, but the error comes up every time I attempt to do anything in AE. The only way I've found to avoid this is to go to a text editor and copy some text to the clipboard. Then the error doesn't appear in AE.

When using Camera Tracker, Ae tries to Solve the track automatically.
But I would like to kill some 2D tracks before Solving, to get better results when moving objects are in the shot.

It would be incredibly helpful to be able to disregard descenders (possibly also ascenders) when measuring the height of a text layer with sourceRectAtTime, possibly with a new parameter – something like sourceRectAtTime().textHeight.

This would be useful, for instance, when creating rectangles to act as text boxes.

I noticed wiggle() sometimes goes outside the amplitude range.

For example, wiggle(50, 5) can exceed above 5 and below -5.

I have a whole project (Folders, Subfolders, etc) saved on OneDrive. When I try exporting the After Effects file with Media Encoder it fails to export & I can't even change setting (the error message “could not read from source. Please check the settings and try again.” appears). I´ve never had this problem before.
I’m guessing it’s the combinations of After Effects and OneDrive. But I’m clueless as of why & how to fix this? Does anyone have an idea?

Access to the data of Undo command via scripting.

If developer have access to undo data, we could Undo an action by separate composition or something more precise.
Many possibilities with that.
Sometimes you do things in a precomp, change something in an other precomp but you made a midstake in the first precomp but you can't undo just your first change.

In order to load the fonts in AE, I have to open another app, like Illustrator or Photoshop. All apps are up to date.

I created Files with a Comp in the Renderqueue in a Watchfolder. Though the Rendered image Sequence is different if i use After Effects as a Render Node or not. If I use it as a Render Node the already saved comp in the Renderqueue renders disabled layers in that comp. If I use AE normally and Render it. The output is correct.

ADOBE FIX YOUR PROGRAMS! I JUST LOST 2 WEEKS OF RENDERTIME!

Every time I update After Effects and Media Encoder, multiple problems occur. Projects get broken, plugins and scripts need reinstalling, I have to set up my workspace again and in the end I usually have to roll back to an older version because the new one is too broken to use. I waste days of production time with this. Just stop posting updates unless they are 100% solid.
