  1. Falloffs for any effects

    It would be a great improvement if we could define falloffs for any effects on any layers, as it is usual in 3D software such as Cinema 4D. I would like to define easily (animated) areas where effects occur or animations will take place without copying layers and work with masks. This would be a very powerful system.

  2. Increase the Brush Size limit (200.00) on the Generate ⮞ Stroke Effect.

    As I am an animator of logos, I use the stroke effect very often, but sometimes when the resolution should be bigger I need more than the limit (200.00). Then I simply can't make that animation in big resolution.

    Then what can I tell my buyers?

  3. Roto Brush rendering is pretty bad,

    BUG: keeps rendering after effects unresponsive & or displays grey screen.

  4. Smear/smudge feature in the clone stamp tool

    It should be possible to blur/smear/smudge strokes to allow for color uniformity when making a clean plate, for instance. Take note from Nuke's rotopaint node.

  6. Override render/calculation order

    So, AE calculates all properties in a specific order when rendering: first masks, then effects, then transforms, track mattes, etc. I don't know all of the details by heart.

    When you set up an animation, you sometimes run into instances where you want to have AE calculate the render differently - so it thinks about layer styles before motion blur, etc. There are workarounds, usually involving pre-comping.

    What if you could apply an effect on a per-layer or per-comp basis to override this render order? Ideally you could drag the steps into whatever order would work for your scenario.

  7. 32-bit RPF data need to support in AE cc 2017

    After effects does not support 32-bit RPF file format...
    Before we use to work on 16 - bit. But now It should support 32-bit as well

  10. Lighting options in Glass Wipe transition

    I know the current Glass Wipe transition is technically CyCore's domain, but here goes. Would like the ability to adjust the lighting properties for the CC Glass Wipe transition. There is currently no brightness, light angle, highlight control, or anything, which is odd since the effect is so similar to CC Glass.

  11. shortcut to create/duplicate layers/shapes/adjustments/efects UNDER the previous one

    too often you need to create layers under not above the current( like textures of fractal, shades etc. would be cool to revisit current shortcuts for creating all those different pieces and unite them to a one solution and to have an alt key for creating them under

  14. effects to be cloned and connected through entirely in the project

    so that if you change any of them - others will follow. Not like when linking them - that they have a mother effect

  15. Bug Report: AE 15.0.1 unable to interpret alpha channel- unless there is a starting frame with alpha.

    When doing character animation, I typically use Toonboom Harmony, and then render out PNG4 sequences for compositing in AE. However, since version 15.0.1, I've been having an issue where my PNG sequences were not having their alpha interpreted. While this is hard to convey without pictures, here's how I solved the issue and it may help you guys to squash the bug:

    1) In Toonboom, I create an animation that starts on a full background, no alpha channel, then transitions in-animation to a wipe that then needs to be comped in AE.

    2) Render it out as a PNG4 sequence…

  16. Bug - Master Properties and toComp() expression

    Most expressions linked to a Master Property work properly when the MP is changed across different instances, but a few expression methods like toComp() and fromComp() always act as if the layer being referenced has its original transform data, even if those properties are being changed instance-wise by the Master Properties.

    For instance, if in "Comp 1" I put a Beam effect, using the positions of two 3D layers as the endpoints using toComp(), and control the positions of said layers via MP's in "Comp 2" (or control the "Comp 1"s camera position, etc.), the Beam endpoints just stay in…

  17. [BUG] Can't open subcomp

    AE 18.0.1 won't let me enter a subcomp upon doubleclicking it's layer. The error message states "Can't open layers with collapsed transformation. Oh boy 😞

  20. Allow Set Matte effect to see/respect transforms

    If I want to use a layer as a matte using Set Matte, AE won't recognize any transforms (position, scale, etc) that I've done to it within the comp. It will only see them if I precomp the layer, adding more complexity to the file, and causing other issues.

    Instead of just the option to use Source, Masks, Effects & Masks, can you add transforms? Maybe instead of the pop-up selector, you could have checkboxes, so the user could choose what combination of modifiers they want to use.
