  1. Play Videos from inside Media Encoder

I often use Media Encoder to cut down videos. Unfortunately though, because you can't play videos from inside Media Encoder, I often have to take them into Premiere first to ensure I've set the right in point.

Media Encoder should have the option to play video files.

  3. AME from AE frame numbering?

Exporting frames to AME vs rendering within AE must remain consistent. AME sequences always start at 0000, instead of the work area start and end points, like they're supposed to. It essentially makes AME useless for frame sequences since you can't customize what you're rendering so that it overwrites the older frames. Its what makes frames sequence rendering so superior to file rendering. You only render the bits that need to be revised and don't have to wrangle multiple different video files for fixes. PLEASE FIX IT ALREADY. This can't be hard to do. MAKE OUR LIVES EASIER or we…

  4. When creating a sidecar caption file... time code is wrong

I have a program that is recorded on an XDCAM disc that has 608 captions embedded. When I go to create a sidecar file in AME to send to a local TV station, the time code is always off between 30 and 45 seconds.
I have verified the time code on the embedded caption file is correct. Both files are 29.97 drop frame

  5. Get Media Encoder to respect all fonts from Premiere Pro.

Media Encoder CC 2019 doesn't respect my client's proprietary font which works fine in Premiere Pro, but instead replaces it with a generic font. Highly annoying and time consuming to discover this in the middle of a long batch export. Had to do them all from Premiere.

  6. When changing monitor configuration, reset window size and position so they don't appear off screen.

I've listed this under AME, as that's the app that I'm currently struggling with, but it affects other apps (AE, Prem) as well.

I work on a Macbook and some of the time use a second monitor. When I remove the second monitor and then open an app that's previously been open on that screen, it appears offscreen, with the window controls unavailable. The only way to fix seems to be to change my screen resolution, which causes the window to reset.

  7. No GPU memory flush for queued Premiere projects

I had 10 projects queued, and Media Encoder failed every third encode.
Checked video card memory usage in GPU-Z, and yes, after every single render the usage amount increased by 1.5GB, so my GTX1060 3GB obviously ran out of video memory after two project renders. I think it's a bug, and Media Encoder should take care to clean up video memory after every single render task. I am using Windows 10 (1803 version)

  8. problem with hevc 10bit 4:2:0 footage (mavic 2 pro)

New Media Encoder 2019 13.1 built 173 refuses to open Mavic 2 pro footage (see attached screens).
The same file successfully imports by Premiere Pro.
I created a proxies for that file with before the last update without any problem.

  9. BUG: JPEG 2000 MXF OP1a exports with 1px black bar

    1. Exporting clip from AfterEffects (via AME) to JPEG 2000 MXF OP1a

    2. Importing the clip into PremierePro

    3. Exporting from PremierePro via: File>Export>Media to H264 (YouTube 1080p Full HD preset)

    4. 1px black bar appears on the top of the video clip

  10. AVCHD 2.0 (MVC) stereo 3D

I need support for AVCHD 2.0 MVC as delivered by Sony or Panasonic S3D cameras. I'd like to convert these files to Cineform Codec by Media Encoder. GoPro Studio made this on Windows but is not available anymore. Until now Media Encoder only encodes the left eye to Cineform codec.

  12. BUG: Mac Mojave Encoder 2019 drop-down menu UI appears offscreen

BUG: 2019 version drop-down menu UI appears offscreen

Bug only appears in stand-alone Encoder 2019 13.0.2 (not Encoder 2018 and not within the Encoder in Premiere CC 2019), when I click on drop-down menus, they render waaaaay down off screen and unclickable. This is only visible when I view all windows in Mission Control (see attached).

    Specs:
    macOS Mojave 10.14.2 with 27in built-in Retina Display + 24in Dell U2412M Display

    Display Settings:
    Retina Scaled for "More Space"
    Dell Monitor at regular 1920x1200

The bug does not occur when the Dell Monitor is rotated 90 degrees, however.

  13. Fade in/out

Please add automatic fade in/out - i want to add this to a few thousand videos and it's no problem in other encoders.

  14. Limit size of Media Cache

In Premiere Pro the size of the media cache can be limited, why not in AME?
Alternatively a switch to disable creating cache files.
Because while batch encoding it just fills the C drive until the system crashes.

  15. AME is unable to update nested Dynamic links when using watch folders

This issue occurs when I drop a Premiere Pro project containing Dynamically linked After Effects projects into an AME watch folder.

The first time AME renders out everything perfectly fine. If I then update anything inside the AE project and drop the PP project file in the watch folder again, it only renders changes made in PP, not in AE. Incrementing the AE project doesn’t help either.

Currently the only workaround to this is to manually restart AME every time there is a change made to a dynamically linked AE project.

It would make sense to either have AME automatically…

  16. Media Encoder has a memory leak from Premiere queues that causes whole system to crash

CC2018 Latest on Mac. When rendering a large queue (10+ short videos), the system memory slowly fills until the whole system freezes due to lack of memory. Cannot figure out a way around this bug. Must restart system each time.

  17. Bug: don't count paused time in elapsed time

Elapsed time currently includes paused time and throws off remaining time.

Found in both 2019 and 2018, both Mac and PC.

Try it: encode for 1 minute then pause the encode for 1 minute. When you un-pause the elapsed time jumps up to 2 minutes. And this new value is used to calculate remaining time, so it's thrown way off as well. The longer you pause, the more it's off.

I can't think any good reason to code it this way. It's not a huge deal relative to other bugs, but come on! Attention to detail, Adobe!

  20. Apply Preset names to file

Once I finish an edit in Premiere I need to encode 27 files from the sequence. I've created 27 presets in MEdia Encoder. My question is, can I add a "name" to each preset that would be show in the files name as well?

    Example

    original file name: RaceCarV3.mov
new file name based on WebM preset: RaceCarV3-WebM.webm

Anyway to do this? pleeeeeessseee!!!!!! make this happen
