  1. Bug - Export path changed

Used an Ingest preset to batch export some video files. The preset contains an output file destination along with a file renaming command, yet two of the files were exported to the default destination for Media Encoder and were not renamed. Pic demonstrating this in the act is attached.

  2. Email when Encoding Item Completes

Add the option to send an email once a specific task has finished. For example, if a task is set to publish to youtube, and email containing the URL to the youtube page would be awesome.

  3. allow for a separate computer to render the project using ME so PPR isn't affected by rendering files.

Imagine two computers one optimized for encoding and rendering out PPR and AE Projects with tons of Ram and Tons of large storage space.
the second with significantly less storage like 500GB on an SSD (MVME) With Really fast single Core performance and a nice graphics card. this computer is only here to edit and assemble the project.

together theses computers could be great. all that would need to happen is to have Media encoder run on a second computer that is connected to the same shared folders be able to see when you want to start a render and…

  7. Setting to create MXF files for Avid

You can create an OP1A MXF file, but it is not compatible with Avid Media Composer. Need an Avid MC compatible file setting so the files can be dropped into a bin and run directly (not drag and import).

  9. encoding status percentage

The status bar could really use a percentage number on how far the encoding is. Sometimes for example I want to know when half of the encoding is done.

  10. Poor encoding performance from C300 Mark II 4K MXF files

<Need to create intermediate ProRes files from my originals for a client>

I'm seeing 4 thread max utilization (of 24) & no GPU load on mac pro 5,1's (3 machines, various versions of AME tested)

2K files from camera (and other formats) perform fine (ie full utilization + GPU where appropriate).

  11. Apply in&out points to multiple clips

Add a "trim" option to presets, with 2 horizontal radio buttons for "Trim by" and "Exact timecode", followed by in and out fields.

One is relative, the other is absolute.
If the trims are impossible, render will flag a warning (or fail) with the appropriate message (e.g. "Trim values exceed the clip's duration.")

(PS While we're at it, add scaling options to presets, too.)

  12. Increase the file size upload limit for Facebook

According to Facebook's Help Center, their file size limitation has increased to 4gb (with max length of 4hrs), from the former limit of 1.75gb. It seems AME and Premiere assume the limit is still 1.75gb and doesn't even attempt to upload if the size is greater. Would it be possible to raise the cap for that parameter to 4gb?

    FB Help Center article: https://www.facebook.com/help/215726848451641?helpref=faq_content

Thank you for all your hard work!

  14. Unable to render h.264 in smaller dimensions without jaggy/jagged edges

  16. PAL Specification is wrong

Why does the same mistake with the PAL format specification repeat for several generations of your product? Why PAL you have a different pixel aspect ratio than it actually is? This constantly creates problems in the work! We make videos in Full HD format, and then create a master for the air, including in the PAL format. Full HD 16x9 Square Pixels = 1920x1080. PAL Widescreen 16x9 square pixels = 1024x768. PAL Widescreen non-square = 720x576. 1024/720 = 1.4222, not 1.4587, as indicated in your programs, and therefore you always have to artificially edit these values with your hands and…

  17. AME 2019 Not Handling Alpha Channels properly during export

Encountered an issue today on multiple machines running MacOS Mohave and the latest version of Adobe CC 2019. Timeline in premiere has a ProRes4444 file with an alpha channel on top of another footage file. It looks normal in premiere, and even looks correct in the preview window in Media Encoder. However, when rendering, I can see in the render preview window that the alpha channel footage is being rendered as having a black backdrop. This occurs in the rendered file as well.

The settings I was using are a modified form of the standard Vimeo 1080p H.264 preset. Settings…

  18. allow for some method of encode or encoding which all users can share in or use .... keep short cuts up by adobe for future use.

allow for some method of encode or encoding which all users can share in or use .... keep … so that the next time I come back something adobe did in the past will ring true and perhaps still exist?? Is that too much to ask??

  19. Unable to produce frame

Since upgrading from 2017 to 2018 we can not use the Media Encoder batch processing feature any more. After 1 or 2 processed videos Media Encoder fails and we get the following error message:

    Export Error
    Error compiling movie.

    Accelerated Renderer Error

    Unable to produce frame.

    Writing with exporter: QuickTime
    Writing to file: R:\5760-Cineform\Incoming\ATM00442-Australia-Kangaroos-on-Beach-5760x2880-29-97fps-Cineform-2-Min-Col-Stereo-Sound.mov
    Around timecode: 00;02;49;19 - 00;02;49;23
    Rendering at offset: 130.998 seconds
    Component: QuickTime of type Exporter
    Selector: 9
    Error code: -1609629695

We would love to be able to render overnight again, rather than rendering each file from Premiere for 30-40 minutes before being able to work on…
