Limit size of Media Cache
In Premiere Pro the size of the media cache can be limited, why not in AME?
Alternatively a switch to disable creating cache files.
Because while batch encoding it just fills the C drive until the system crashes.1 vote -
AME is unable to update nested Dynamic links when using watch folders
This issue occurs when I drop a Premiere Pro project containing Dynamically linked After Effects projects into an AME watch folder.
The first time AME renders out everything perfectly fine. If I then update anything inside the AE project and drop the PP project file in the watch folder again, it only renders changes made in PP, not in AE. Incrementing the AE project doesn’t help either.
Currently the only workaround to this is to manually restart AME every time there is a change made to a dynamically linked AE project.
It would make sense to either have AME automatically…

Play Videos from inside Media Encoder
I often use Media Encoder to cut down videos. Unfortunately though, because you can't play videos from inside Media Encoder, I often have to take them into Premiere first to ensure I've set the right in point.
Media Encoder should have the option to play video files.

Media Encoder has a memory leak from Premiere queues that causes whole system to crash
CC2018 Latest on Mac. When rendering a large queue (10+ short videos), the system memory slowly fills until the whole system freezes due to lack of memory. Cannot figure out a way around this bug. Must restart system each time.

Bug: don't count paused time in elapsed time
Elapsed time currently includes paused time and throws off remaining time.
Found in both 2019 and 2018, both Mac and PC.
Try it: encode for 1 minute then pause the encode for 1 minute. When you un-pause the elapsed time jumps up to 2 minutes. And this new value is used to calculate remaining time, so it's thrown way off as well. The longer you pause, the more it's off.
I can't think any good reason to code it this way. It's not a huge deal relative to other bugs, but come on! Attention to detail, Adobe!

Apply Preset names to file
Once I finish an edit in Premiere I need to encode 27 files from the sequence. I've created 27 presets in MEdia Encoder. My question is, can I add a "name" to each preset that would be show in the files name as well?
Example
original file name: RaceCarV3.mov
new file name based on WebM preset: RaceCarV3-WebM.webmAnyway to do this? pleeeeeessseee!!!!!! make this happen

Burn in metadata (eg FPS, codec, frame size)
In effects tab I can burn in timecode & clip name. Be useful to be able to burn in other metadata too.
Could be added to clip name prefix/suffix in a similar way that Resolve works (eg %fps will insert the FPS for a clip

Media Encoder fails to open perfectly good H.264 files.
Media Encoder won't open some H.264 files that open just fine in QuickTime Player and IINA. Example attached.

Allow for dragging a file to the dock icon of AME to open a file for compression.
Similarly to how you can drag and import from the dock like most other Adobe Applications

Media Encoder 13.0.2 crashes
I decided to try out the newest version of Creative Cloud and am met with Media Encoder requiring a "Force Close". I'm on Mac OS Sierra. Premiere Pro seems to function fine. I have a 2013 MacBook Pro and EArly 2009 Mac Pro tower and experience the same crashing behavior. Attached is a log from the MacBook Pro. Any help is greatly appreciated.

H264 Blu Ray encoded files from AME 2019 cause Encore CS6 to crash
AME 2019 Blu Ray encoded files cause Encore CS6 to freeze, AME 2018 encoded files work fine.
Please fix.2 votes -
Let us set a maximum file size for best render compression
It'd be great to just set the desired output file size, and have AME do the best compression it can for that specific size. Thanks.

BUG: Media Encoder v.13.0.2 won't export some content to MXF OP1a, but will in every other format
We have noticed when upgrading from v12 to v13, that some content won`t be exported (fails) to MXF OP1a - IMX30 PAL, but it will in other formats like MPEG2 or H264.
Same content works without any problems in any format in v12.1 vote -
DOUBLE CLICK TO RESET THE SLIDERS
Premiere Pro has an option to reset the sliders of Lumetri Color when you hit twice on them.
Your developing team could add this functionality to all the sliders of all the effects of all the Adobe video & audio apps.
It could be awesome ;)

Adobe removed the ability to install older versions of Media Encoder. This is unacceptable, especially when businesses rely on features that were stripped from the newest release of Media Encoder. When our version bugged out and wouldn't pick up the license, I attempted to uninstall and reinstall, just to find out that there was no way to reinstall.
