  1. Add option to copy video to additional location after encode is completed

This software is called media ENCODER so technically this doesn't really fall under it's rubric but, since one can queue multiple encodes to different locations it would also be helpful to have post encoding options such as the ability to copy a finished job to multiple locations, this allows one to automatically output to all needed locations, but also avoid unnecessary re-encoding. It's just a convenience thing.

I am often encoding to an external drive to be used as a delivery medium, but that is not the location that will be used for archiving of the project. A given encode…

  2. Project Consolidation

Please add Premiere's 'Project Manager' feature to Media Encoder. Would be great to be able to upload Premiere Projects and select sequences to be consolidated and transcoded through Media Encoder which would free up Premiere for Editing.

  3. Edit multiple files with the same start time

Often I will have over 50 clips that need to start at the same timecode. The ability to be able to highlight all clips and set one start time instead of having to go through and set 50 individual in points.

  4. Allow Multi Instance Encoding

AME does not use all cores, because of unknown reason (OpenSource encoder can do this). I have an 32 Core CPU (Threadripper) and only 5 Cores used.

Either AME should scale encoding processes (without GPU) to more cores, or AME should allow to start multiple instances (without GPU) to use the other cores in parallel.

In my case encoding into DNX 4K takes only 5 cores with only 200Mb/s and waste the other cores with doing nothing. Encoding takes two times than the length (approx. 30fps). I could render 6 streams in parallel without any problems, but i can't and…

  5. scripting

I run AME from the command line and specify path to the script that contains the code for render of the PremierPro project. AME opens, the specified project loads into the render queue, and the rendering doing.

But there is no way to assign framerange/timerange in scripting.

I studied the manual AME Scripting Guide (Release 1.0, Jul 30, 2020). And I found it impossible to programmatically set the frameRange or timeRange for render queue object (Batch Item Object).

Including such a function in scripting will allow one video to be calculated on several computers of the render farm. Very Important!

  6. watch folders

I just tried to use a watch folder to convert 139 4K videos downsampled to 720P, and it put all my 4k source files in separate folders! Now I have to pick each one out and put them back in my media folder to edit with. what kind of a stupid idea is that? please fix!

  7. Allow users to encode videos WITHOUT administrator permission

I have been facing this issue ever since I was hired by my company. For some odd reason I cannot batch encode my videos without the lamb noise coming up and saying "Encoding Failed." This is pretty aggravating considering I have to encode multiple videos at a time and without Media Encoder I would have to manually encode each video through Premiere. The error log states that I don't have permission to create or delete the output file which is total BS. I will have the log attached.

  8. Allow to change multiple files in queue to specific out put location

Why, oh why doesn't media encoder allow me to select multiple file sin a queue and set a specific output location? I would think this would be a given especially after how long this program has been around.

Simply put again: I would/need to have the option to select multiple files in queue and set a specific output location/folder for each file - so allowing multiple output locations for whatever the file requires. I am constantly doing large jobs and multiple revisions on multiple versions of videos. To have to adjust each file separately is tedious and time consuming.

  9. Publish directly on Facebook Business

At the moment, publish video to Facebook, goes straight to live, although business' prepare their posts in advance and using Facebook Business for both organic and paid posts. Publish here is best for this sense. Thank you, Sérgio.

  10. Sort queue options

Please give me the option to sort the render queue by name, date added, or even video length. Right now, to reorder the queue, I can only do it by dragging processes up and down.

  13. Batch Destination/Naming Settings

Very frustrating that it isn't possible to change the export folder/filenames in bulk.

Compressor has done this well for years, with the ability to create presets for common destinations and file naming structures.

Something like that would be super useful.

  14. Drag clips from sequence into media encoder

Currently there is no way to export individual clips from a Premiere Pro sequence while keeping any changes/effects that were made in the Effects Control panel window.

It would be great to simply drag and select all of the clips in a premiere pro sequence, then drag them into Media Encoder, or open them in Media encoder so that they all show up as individual clips to export.

This would be a great way to batch export clips WITH effects and changes for social media re-purposing, after using the new ReFrame feature in Premiere Pro. (from going from 16:9 Horizontal…

  15. Have the Creative Cloud desktop app have a look at Media Encoders' watch folded

It might be an idea to have the Creative Cloud desktop app have a look at Media Encoders' watch folded and start running Media Encoder as soon as a file is added to the Watch Folder.

  16. Estimated time remaining for proxy generation

Adding an estimated time remaining to the batch processing of proxies so an editor knows a rough idea of when they can come back to the workstation to begin editing.

  17. half input

Instead of choosing between "same as source" or a custom resolution.

Id would be great with a simple "half of input resolution" option when choosing resolution

  18. Please add CUDA support back into Media Encoder 2020 for macOS

Please add CUDA support back into Media Encoder 2020 for macOS. I use a Mac Pro Mid 2012 tower with an NVIDIA GTX 970 and 64GB of RAM. Only being allowed to use Metal as a renderer increases my export time to more than than 4x for the same sequences from ME 2019. I've tried using Premiere with Windows and Boot Camp, but can't properly edit multicam sequences in Windows on this thing because of constant audio drop outs and delays, so right now my best option is to edit in macOS, then boot into Windows for exporting with CUDA…

  19. A 'smart fail' option of sorts?

Can AME offer some kind of 'output monitoring'? For example, often I will have a batch of proxies or sequences queued up to export. Sometimes AME won't fail exporting (give the yellow ! error), it will just hang and stop encoding. This is extremely annoying in its own right, but when it stops early on in an overnight batch encode only to see 4 or 5 out of 20 actually encoded in the morning, it is beyond frustrating that I let my computer run 8 hours doing nothing.

Can AME offer some kind of monitoring that if it is not…

  20. BUG!!! Media Encoder preset with timecode defaults to show frame count rather than TC

This seems to have been introduces with the latest update. I have a preset to render an H264 file with file name and timecode visually burned in. Before updating it worked fine. Now it shows a number(I assume framecount) rather than TC. If I switch to generate rather than source, then it shows TC. But if I save the preset on "generate," it saves the starting time as well, so the TC is not accurate. If I create a new preset, the first application works as expected, but once I apply from the saved preset it fails in the same…
