Allow User to change to Constant FR
There is a big issue with iphone footage coming in with Variable FR resulting in skewed audio/video throughout the adobe suite. Right now the only fix for it is to upload the footage into third party software and encode the footage to have a Constant FR, which is pretty ridiculous given that we have a media encoder for Adobe and if I wanted to be using open source software, I wouldn't be paying for the adobe suite. I think Media Encoder is the obvious software solution for this but it affects so many of the adobe suite programs that it should be implemented in a way that makes it easy for users to make the change regardless of what program they are using (like how exporting generally moves the file to encoder). This is something that your help desk team is aware of and right now they currently recommend an open source program called "HandBrake" to remedy it. As a software platform that goes out of its way to be Iphone friendly, I think this is a must-have for the program. In the same vein, VLC was able to import the footage correctly without issue as well. I hate to nag on you guys but I find it a little disheartening that so many open source programs get this concept to the point where the solutions are barely even user facing (VLC just corrects it on its own) and Adobe, which is a very expensive suite, doesn't. Please make this crucial update.
Hello Nadia. I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue. We certainly wouldn't expect this issue from iPhone footage and would like to investigate further. Would you be able to upload a sample file so that our developers can take a look? I can provide you with a link to use for uploading if you like.
