Render with preview files fails with third-party audio plug-ins
When encoding a Premiere sequence that uses VST or AU audio plugins and the 'Use Previews' setting enabled Media Encoder freezes on the first frame with audio, proceeding to fail with the error:
"Error compiling movie. Exporter returned bad result."
Exporting direct from Premiere with the exact same settings works as intended.

Keyframes in audio effects ignored (BUG)
When exporting to h.264 from Premiere Pro CC 2018, the Media Encoder ignores the first set of keyframes in audio effects. This results in a weird jumps in the audio effects at the beginning of the video. To replicate:
1) Apply the Mastering audio effect to a clip
2) Create some keyframes with initial values for a few parameters
3) Create a second set of keyframes later in the clip that modify those same parameters
4) Create a third set of keyframes modifying those parameters
5) Export the video to h.264 mp4 using Media EncoderExpected behavior:
Video should contain…

Footage from my iPhone is being flipped 90 degrees while compressing. Why?!
I go to look at the footage placed in my timeline and it looks a normal 16:9 look. Yet, while compressing my footage Media Encoder flips my videos upsidedown? Why?

12.0.1 Crashes constantly, had to down grade to 12.0
I had to downgrade the recent update because it just would not work on my system. I had to downgrade Premiere Pro as well. Before that that I tried uninstalling and re-installing, checked startup and services to make sure everything was enabled, etc. I have an older laptop on Windows 10 and I keep everything up to date. I have not worked with the any of the other recent upates yet to se if they have similar issues.

Rendering a sequence from a Premiere Pro project file
I'd like to be able to set up watch folder for Media Encoder, and to accept sequences from Premiere Pro files (so i send my sequence from my computer, then render on a 2nd machine / server), without having to transfer source files to the 2nd computer.
Currently only already made videos can be moved to watch folders.
And sequences within premiere project files have to manually be added to Media Encoder2 votes -

There are some problems during the conversion of files and rendering projects. It gets stucked and it's impossible to continue working
Fix these new actualization bugs.

Effect - Individual Name Overlay for Stitched Clips
There is the ability to Apply a Name overlay to any clip but it remains limited in using the stitch clip function. Currently if you add the effect to a stitched clip it would add the name of the overall stitched clip and not the name of each individual clip.
I am advocating for the addition of a radio button to enable per clip naming.
The current work around is exporting all clips to be stitched through media encoder individually with the effect > name enabled and then take all of those exports and create a stitched video from it.…1 vote -

When a premier project file is placed in the watch folder in Media Encoder, the sequence is automatically loaded and rendered. How to exclude the render of only a specific sequence?
For example, how to exclude nested sequences from render1 vote -

No Scenarist Closed Captions in AME 14.8
Windows 10 - 32GB RAM - GTX 1080
AME 14.8 is missing the option to embed or create sidecar Scenarist Closed Caption files.
I have used this feature on a regular basis. Tried with my normal export preset in premiere for captions. Even recreated it. Upon queuing to AME, it changes the captioning format from SCC to MCC.

AME altering closed captions format in 14.8 MXF exports - Renders Unusable for Broadcast
Windows 10 - 32GB RAM - GTX1080
When I export a show with embedded closed captioning as an OP1a MXF from Premiere Pro 14.8 to Media Encoder 14.8, the captions are being changed from .scc to .mcc. I am exporting an HDCAMHD 50 MXF that has 608 and 708 captions that were imported from Scenarist files (.scc). When I go to the captions tab in PPro, I am selecting "Embed in Output File." Below that, the greyed out boxes confirm that it is a .scc file. I can even check "Create Sidecar File" and .scc is still one of the…1 vote -

Don't connect to dynamic link server before opening settings for a dynamic link render queue item
The "connecting to dynamic link" box often takes a long time. Instead, let the settings page load instantly like it does for a non dynamic link item. Settings can be available right away, and the video preview can display a "connecting to dynamic link" message until it establishes the connection. Most of the time, a user does not need the video preview.

Aspect ratio SAR and DAR missing in exported MP4 file container data
When encoding MP4 files from Media Encoder or Premiere Pro the exported file is missing the SAR and DAR values.
This can be easily check with ffprobe and this command:
