  2. Problems when exporting/transcoding DV AVI files - Render/transcode stalls

I opened several old project containing DV AVI PAL footage. I noticed that all project with DV AVI PAL has problems when exporting from AME 14/15/22 and Premiere Pro.

The export (or transcode) stalls, continues, stalls, continues, etc, etc until it´s done. This does not happen with another source codec such as Blackmagic Design Motion-JPEG or Prores.

    An easy way to reproduce:
    1. Open Premiere Pro and create a DV PAL 4:3 timeline.
    2. Create and add Bars and Tone and place it on the timeline
    3. Make the Bars and Tone 1 hour long
    4. Export to AVI >…

  4. moving sources and encoded outputs

Hi, I would like to see an option in AMEs preferences to turn off that moving of sourcefiles. This makes it almost impossible to set up a workflow that relies on creating versions and using Proxies in After effects, since they are moved away. Just laeve everything where it is and create a textfile to check if a clip has been rendered already or not. Maxon does it very well with Teamrender. Please!

  5. Select source audio tracks

When I get rushes that have 4 tracks of audio I want to be able to choose the tracks that I want to process and mute in AME to create dailies. Much like Modify Clip > Audio Channels in Premiere Pro.

  6. Improve quality for batch exports out of premier through media encoder.

I am losing a lot more quality doing batch exports out of premier and into media encoder. I am losing a lot of my font weight. So words that were visible are not visible anymore. This happens in the chain from premier to media encoder. I know this because I will export out of premier and then compress with media encoder, and I don't have the issue any more. But for now I have to export individually out of premier and not use media encoders batch process, for sake of quality. All exports were made with the same bitrate and…

  7. Force encoder to finish it's job

It just stops encoding for no reason, the previous encoder would have been fine, this has happened on 2 occasions since the recent update.
Please fix as this could seriously harm my work in future.

  9. Add transition types to clip stitching workflow using Adobe Media Encoder

Allow for configuration of transitions (dip to black, crossfade, etc.) when stitching clips together using Adobe Media Encoder.

  10. Allow media encoder to add custom prefix/suffix to output file

Specifically allow media encoder to add either custom text or source file name as a prefix/suffix to the output file. In my work my After Effects project are given job numbers and the output file also must be named with the same job number to keep track of files.

We have also created templates to ease with production, currently our output comps simply start with "XXXXX" and we do a batch rename after rendering is complete. But with custom prefixes/suffixes we wouldn't have a need for that step.

This could be added as an option to encoding presets or to…

When a premier project file is placed in the watch folder in Media Encoder, the sequence is automatically loaded and rendered. How to exclude the render of only a specific sequence?
For example, how to exclude nested sequences from render

  12. Import multiple sequences non natively

When you press "Edit" > "Preferences..." and un-check the box where it says "Import sequences natively", you can only import one sequence at a time which is quite time consuming if you are exporting stock footage.

  13. Old AME files remover

It would be great to have an integrated tool or menu option that allows you to access a list of all the .AME files stored in your computer so that you can remove them easily when you don't need them instead of having to manually look for each file.

  14. Allocate media exports across different computers over network

While Media encoder is super helpful , it is a bit limited with network options. I have 3 machines available to me and they all run Adobe Media encoder and premier pro. Our media library is on the local storage so you can open project files from any machine.

At the moment , if I want to utilise all of my machines(for decreasing export times) , I have to open the same Premiere Pro file and then prepare different sequences for export on each machine individually or access the sequence through each computer's Media encoder.

    It would be great if…

  17. Remove black bars automatically

Many videos I get are with black bars on the top or bottom.
"With the power of Adobe Sensei", detect black bars, crop the video, save in the same format and quality.
It can be a preset, it can be a checkbox in a preset or it can be a script.
optional: add a XX pixels inset from the crop for sharper edges.
It must be "drag, run, see folder". If so, it can be a killer feature.

  18. scripting

I run AME from the command line and specify path to the script that contains the code for render of the PremierPro project. AME opens, the specified project loads into the render queue, and the rendering doing.

But there is no way to assign framerange/timerange in scripting.

I studied the manual AME Scripting Guide (Release 1.0, Jul 30, 2020). And I found it impossible to programmatically set the frameRange or timeRange for render queue object (Batch Item Object).

Including such a function in scripting will allow one video to be calculated on several computers of the render farm. Very Important!

  19. watch folders

I just tried to use a watch folder to convert 139 4K videos downsampled to 720P, and it put all my 4k source files in separate folders! Now I have to pick each one out and put them back in my media folder to edit with. what kind of a stupid idea is that? please fix!

  20. Allow users to encode videos WITHOUT administrator permission

I have been facing this issue ever since I was hired by my company. For some odd reason I cannot batch encode my videos without the lamb noise coming up and saying "Encoding Failed." This is pretty aggravating considering I have to encode multiple videos at a time and without Media Encoder I would have to manually encode each video through Premiere. The error log states that I don't have permission to create or delete the output file which is total BS. I will have the log attached.
