  1. Add HAP codec family to export options

With the removal of Legacy Quicktime codecs, I can't export HAP from the latest Media Encoders.

This is an open source codec. Please add it.

  2. WMV Export on mac

We have clients that require delivery in WMV format. It would be nice to bring WMV Export capabilities to the Mac (especially since you have found a way to bring ProRes export to the PC)

  3. problem with hevc 10bit 4:2:0 footage (mavic 2 pro)

New Media Encoder 2019 13.1 built 173 refuses to open Mavic 2 pro footage (see attached screens).
The same file successfully imports by Premiere Pro.
I created a proxies for that file with before the last update without any problem.

  4. AVCHD 2.0 (MVC) stereo 3D

I need support for AVCHD 2.0 MVC as delivered by Sony or Panasonic S3D cameras. I'd like to convert these files to Cineform Codec by Media Encoder. GoPro Studio made this on Windows but is not available anymore. Until now Media Encoder only encodes the left eye to Cineform codec.

  7. Media Encoder fails to open perfectly good H.264 files.

Media Encoder won't open some H.264 files that open just fine in QuickTime Player and IINA. Example attached.

  8. Setting to create MXF files for Avid

You can create an OP1A MXF file, but it is not compatible with Avid Media Composer. Need an Avid MC compatible file setting so the files can be dropped into a bin and run directly (not drag and import).

smart phones are variable frame rate- if you want to be able to edit with this footage it has to be constant frame rate- hand brake does this for free but you have to choose one file at a time and its slow-

  10. PAL Specification is wrong

Why does the same mistake with the PAL format specification repeat for several generations of your product? Why PAL you have a different pixel aspect ratio than it actually is? This constantly creates problems in the work! We make videos in Full HD format, and then create a master for the air, including in the PAL format. Full HD 16x9 Square Pixels = 1920x1080. PAL Widescreen 16x9 square pixels = 1024x768. PAL Widescreen non-square = 720x576. 1024/720 = 1.4222, not 1.4587, as indicated in your programs, and therefore you always have to artificially edit these values with your hands and…

  11. Have a default Preset

Being able to right-click a preset and setting "Make Default" would be fantastic. I know AME is supposed to apply whatever preset you last used, but that only works when AME has not crashed. I'd find it incredibly useful to be able to set AME to, by default, always apply the default Preset unless I changed it.

  12. HEVC Codec error

I currently manage over 400 Macs with Adobe Media Encoder installed and I am seeing the following error when trying to import files that use the HEVC codec on around 60% of these machines.

All machines are configured exactly the same and have the following setup
    MacOS 10.12.6
    AME 12.1.1 (Build 12)

The exact error message I get is attached

  13. Transcoding to Avid MXF Atom Media

Being able to transcode media to Avid MXF Atom media would be handy. We currently run Premiere and Avid suites so being able to link them up this way would be great.

  14. PROPER color profile and bith depth handling!

You can't work professionally with AME unless you implement proper color profile rendering and comprehensive (!!!) bith depth handling!

Especially coming from AE, how would you export to a digital intermediate, if you can't export something MORE than 8 bit, and Rec.709? It's just embarassing for Adobe.

    — I just come from having a nightmare experience on my last job... Had to use FFmpeg to get a reasonable 10 bit broadcast format, that still contained all the color information. That is a FREE app that got the job done, compared to the PAID Media Encoder...

  15. Render Fails When Rendering H.265 Directly from Premiere

Hello! I've been having trouble for the last few months when rendering Premiere projects as h.265 files. My premiere/media encoder is currently up to date, but this same thing happened in the last versions as well.

Basically, when I export premiere projects using the h.265 codec it often fails before the render finishes. Here is what gets written to the error file:

    • Encoding Time: 13:59:45
      07/26/2018 12:09:58 PM : Encoding Failed

    Export Error
    Error compiling movie.

    Render Error

    Render returned error.

    Writing with exporter: HEVC (H.265)
    Writing to file: \?\E:\AVE0 Temp\FurryComputer\redner1.mp4
    Writing file type: HEVC
    Around timecode: 00:09:10:36 - 00:09:10:44 …

Seriously ... Adobe needs to add these output formats... how long have users been asking for it? How many replies have I seen suggesting using another media encoding software? Wake up Adobe!

  19. Add ProRes RAW support so that we can at least transcode to 422.

We shot a film in ProRes RAW at the University I teach at and ended up having to do this janky workflow with FCPX to edit the files in Premiere. It would have been nice to, at the very least, throw the footage into Encoder to transcode RAW to ProRes 422. (like I have to do with the new Panasonic 422 10bit files). Thanks!

  20. Constant Quality/Quantizer

Adobe software needs to implement both Constant Quality and Constant Quantizer options for H.264/5, with an adjustable Max bitrate setting that can also be applied when needed.
