High Frame Rate transcoding does not go higher than 60fps
Plain and simple: bring back high frame rate encoding. It was in AME 2019 and at some point it was removed. Could this have anything to do with conforming to 'broadcast standards' related to timecode? As time code doesn't exist in formats faster than 60fps. Find a way around it because this is an essential editing feature request. ProRes is not solely for broadcast delivery, in fact it is the backbone of most editing pipelines who choose to not edit native.

ME 22.3 stuck when exporting to HVEC
Hi,
Since updating to 22.3, ME won't move when encoding to HVEC 4K 60 FPS.
I rolled back to 22.2 and it works fine.
I am on a brand new MacBook Pro M1 Max 32 GB ram.6 votesNeeds More Info ·AdminFergus Hammond (Product Manager, Video & Audio Cloud Workflows, Adobe DVA) responded
Hello,
We're not aware of this being a common issue. Can you provide more information about what media formats you are using that show this problem? Even better would be a test project and related media that demonstrate the problem.
Thanks!

Batch - Frame Rate Interpolation Conversion
At some future stage, will AME have a batch frame rate conversion feature with interpolation? That being I can send to a queue a stack of clips with varying frame rates and output all the input files to a same end output file frame rate but leave the audio part of the file untouched to same pitch and duration? Say a collection of 12, 23.97, 24, 29.95, 30, 60 fps and all resulting output conversions at 25 fps. At present I am using AWS Elemental Media Converter which is pretty costly.
Also, why when converting an AOMedia AV1 video file…

Media Encoder fails on multiple file output every time
Every single time I try and make a batch export of multiple files Media Encoder will create the first one and fail all the rest.
I can make it work by resetting the failed files and hitting export again.
This happens on multiple machines and different OS.7 votesNeeds More Info ·AdminFergus Hammond (Product Manager, Video & Audio Cloud Workflows, Adobe DVA) responded
Hi Daniel,
Is this issue happening with the latest version (v.22.2) of Media Encoder? You mention that this is happening on multiple OS versions; I think you're on Windows, right?
Thanks,
Fergus

Audio Multi-Channel Combine & Export
There are a number of audio recorders used in production that produce multiple files for multiple channels. This means that, for example, if there are 3 mics recording to 3 channels, the recorder produces 3 files.
It would be very useful if Media Encoder could combine these files into 1 multi-channel audio file.

Render/Compression Hiccup with M1 Max MacBook Pro
I'm getting a compression hiccup on the M1 Max MacBook Pro on only some videos (batch processing more than one video) using Media Encoder. I use exported ProRes 1080p videos from Final Cut Pro but then I pull those videos into Media Encoder to make a verified transcoded ProRes 1080 29.97 with uncompressed 48000 Hz 24 bit audio for use in television broadcasting. This custom profile we made in Media Encoder works with with our EVS X-file encoder so I can import those video files into our high-end playback and replay EVS equipment. For the past three years, I've been…

Bring webM format back
It has been very convenient to have webM format as an export option. It is the smallest format very convenient for websites, mobile games and apps...It's very disappointing that you decided to remove it

I need to be able to batch modify colorspace in "source settings" for Prores Raw clips in Media Encoder.
I need to be able to batch modify "Source Settings" on ProRes Raw clips in Media Encoder. Currently the colorspace for ProRes Raw clips has to be set on a per clip basis by right-clicking clips in the Media Encoder queue and choosing Source Settings and then setting the colorspace as desired (the colorspace always defaults to Rec709). If I select multiple ProRes raw clips and try to modify Source Settings, the change is applied only to the first clip in the selection. I need to render hundreds of clips using the Sony slog3/sgamut3.cine colorspace setting but as it is,…

Hi Bryan,
I want to provide an update for you on this issue.
Unfortunately, due to the way we handle source settings in Media Encoder right now, it's not a simple change to make it possible to apply source settings to multiple files. In the short term, we are going to remove the ability to choose Source Settings when multiple files are selected; that's a bug because it implies that multiple files can be changed simultaneously when in fact that does not work.
However, your very reasonable request is still something we are going to figure out how to do. I don't have a date for when this will be done - we need to do more investigation - but I will update this request when I have more info.
Thanks again,
Fergus

OpenCL rendering in "Mercury playback engine" will crash with multiple file types on up-to-date intel drivers iris xe. Setting the renderer to software only will fix.

Changing encoding settings for multiple outputs
When changing the encoding settings for multiple outputs, AME always asks for me to confirm that I want to do this. The pop up really needs a "never ask me again" option, so I'm never asked again. I nearly always adjust he output settings of multiple items, and do not want to be asked for confirmation.

Hi Paul,
We have made the change you suggested. You can try it out in the beta version of v23.4 (there's no problem with having both the beta and shipping versions of our products installed at the same time) or you can wait until next month when it will be included in the next release.
Thanks very much for the suggestion!

Animated Gif needs some improvements
For me the .gif format need to be seen more.
It may need to have more options "Like photoshop already have".
1. Color reduction algorythim
2. Specifying dither algorythim
3. Resampling method
Etc.
Exporting an animated giff created in After Effects through Media Encoder should be ideal, but unfortunately it came out as a very heavy file. That's why a big part of us go to export it through Adobe Photoshop. Also for gifs It may be usefully to have the option of typing the desired framerate and not only the default presets ME already have.

Loading/Progress Bar
Would be great if Media Encoder had some sort of loading or progress bar when sending comps from After Effects.

Bitrate setting doesn't work correctly on both CBR VBR on 4K test
I'm converting simple 4K X4K raw AVI to mp4 with 10Mbps bitrate for streaming test.
When I set CBR 10Mbps with maximum render setting, I get 300 Kbps..
When I set VBR 10Mbps with maximum render setting, I get 1-1.3Mbps..
Maybe it thinks that's enough, but the gradient doesn't look good as the original source.
Also I need accurate size of bit rate data for my test2 votes -

Not exporting lumetri color effects
Every time I send out an export from premiere to media encoder it is not applying a lumetri color effect I have applied on Sony a7iii 4K 30fps footage. I don't get it. It doesn't show the color grade I have when I apply the affect either on an adjustment layer or on the file itself. But the color affect I have on an adjustment file to my A cam Canon R5 footage is exporting fine. Please fix, this is adding headache and delaying my projects for my clients.

Updated to Media Encoder 22.4 , now I cannot "interpret footage" imported w/ dynamic link
I updated to 22.4 and now I do not have the option to "Interpret Footage" (it's greyed out) after I send my footage from Premiere Pro to Media Encoder. If you aren't familiar with the 120FPS workaround, I interpret 120fps footage to 23.976 in PP and in ME so I avoid the 60fps issue. I have now downgraded to (22.3.1) until there is a solution. Really hurts my workflow.
posted to community forums, learned this is a better way to submit bugs.
