  1. Add Rulers and draggable guides in the program window

Please add rulers and draggable guides to the program window - just like how they exist in photoshop and after effects. Once set the guides could be toggled on and off with a programmable keyboard shortcut.

  2. bug - multicam crashes when new rulers are enabled

I see several bug reports related to multicam - I was getting spinning beachball anytime I switched multicam angles. After some troubleshooting I have determined that it only happens when the new rulers (which are rad) are enabled. Disabling the rulers averts the crash.

    13.1.2 (Build 2)
    MacOS Mojave 10.14.4
Mac Pro (Mid 2010) Radeon RX 580 8GB
Tried with Software, OpenCL, and Metal Renderers - same result.

  6. Adding Guidelines and Ruler markers?

Would it be possible/valuable to add in the ability to have rulers and guidelines identical to that in Photoshop? I'm often using guidelines in photoshop and I have it set to percentage so I can easily make a grid or precise shape when I'm creating graphics. I thought it may be useful to implement the same feature into the premiere program window

  7. Guide presets for the program monitor

Pressing ctrl and R brings up the rulers in the program monitor and you have to manually move the rulers and right click on them to enter the ruler positions. Without external shortcuts like auto hotkey to do this quicker, instead I propose ruler presets. Pressing CTRL R will continue to bring up the guides, but you can enter guide presets in a menu and select that preset in a hamburger icon on the top left of the program monitor in the guides.

  8. Masking in Premiere Pro

Masking in Premiere is not good in my opinion. Please take the masking of After Effects to Premiere, as you did with the Rulers and Grids.

Setting points with the pen tool in Premiere is pain. It always rotates you need to zoom in so much to set points closer. Its not a good workflow.

    Please import the AE Masking.

  9. Right-click & drag Zoom, just like Audition

It would be REALLY great if Premiere borrowed Audition's right-click+drag to Zoom feature, and implemented it on all timeline rulers. It's so much faster than switching to the Zoom tool all the time to do the same thing.

  10. Add 4:3 Picture and Title Safe area guides to Premiere (Same as After Effects)

Now that we have Rulers and Guides, I've built a custom Title Safe template for Premiere, but it would be great if the default Title Safe guides were the same as After Effects- which include 4:3 Pix/Title safe area. This is still necessary for titling for most broadcast deliveries.

  11. Snap to a grid on the timeline ruler

I am used to editing in audio software that offers the option of snapping to objects or to a grid, whether that grid is defined in seconds, frames or beats-per-minute.

It would be great to have a similar option in Adobe Premiere Pro - it would make editing to the beats in a piece of music much easier.

An alternate timeline ruler of BPM would allow the user to see either frames, seconds, or beats, and include a feature of snapping to individual beats, or groups of beats, when the "beats" ruler is visible.

Obviously, you'd need to be able…

  12. Bug - Clicking the time ruler when playing shifts the timeline view

This seems to be a recent problem as I don't remember Premiere always acting like this.

Situation - View is zoomed in to the timeline, press play, and the playhead quickly moves off the right side of screen.

When I click the time ruler, I want the playback to stop and for the playhead to move to the point where I clicked.

However it seems as though the playhead stops further down the timeline near to its current off-screen position.

  13. Bug: Ruler "Guides" are offset and misplaced when viewing Program monitor full screen (Ctrl + `)

After using guides on a normal Program monitor window...
Guides appear to be offset and misplaced when trying to view playback in "fullscreen" mode (Ctrl + ` on Windows).

The blue lines are shifted up and to the left by a significant amount.

  14. Bug report: scroll bar and time ruler in source/program window

Now and then, without any clear trigger, the time ruler in the preview- and program window dissapears and the scroll bar moves down, hiding some of the buttons. It makes it impossible to edit without those functions. The only way to resolve this problem is restarting the software. System is Windows 10. I've noticed this issue since the last
2 or 3 versions of Premiere (before that I used Premiere on a Mac)

  15. Move Playhead To Cursor Anywhere Into Timeline

The option to press anywhere into the timline and have the playhead follow the cursor instead to always press the ruler on top of it!

It is more time consuming doing so, at least if you think in that way you can accidentatly move clips, put an option in to the preferences,

Please it would a lot of Vegas users make it more friendly and easy work with premiere!

  16. A “ghost playhead" which ALWAYS marks the timeline location of the currently displayed frame

(Perhaps "current view indicator" is a better name than "ghost playhead.")

Here is the problem: The (cyan, user-controlled) playhead does NOT necessarily correlate to the frame that is being shown in the program or source monitor.

Sometimes, an old frame continues to be displayed, even though the user clicked elsewhere on the timeline (or "time ruler," as Premiere calls it.)

Depending upon computer specs, network bandwidth and latency, video codec, and other factors, it can sometimes take several seconds for the chosen frame to actually load and be displayed.

In the meantime, users need some kind of indication as to…

  17. Markers with titles we can see in the ruler or the marker window

This may already be a feature, but it would be amazing to have markers like pro tools! Where I can easily see a word or two in shorthand that lets me know what chapter I'm on or what scene it is.

  18. Source monitor display bug loses part of UI

Issue with source monitor randomly not displaying time ruler, playhead, playhead position time or In/Out duration. Only fixable by restarting Prem.

  19. Timeline timeruler size for scrubbing

I would like to suggest the area at the top of your timeline where you have the time ruler. It would be great if we could expand the size of that area.
I edit using two monitors and daily end up accidently grabbing the entire window or a sequence tab and dragging it out of the monitor when all I'm trying to do is scrub or select that area.

  20. Guide coordinates are wrong (UHD display)

I am using a UHD display on a Gigabyte Aero 17 HDR (don't know if that's relevant). Premiere Pro 14.3.1 build 45.

I am editing a 1920x1080 sequence (see Screenshot 1). There is a 1920x1080 clip in the sequence (see Info panel in Screenshot 4).

When I add a guide, I need to divide the guide position by 2 to get it in the correct place. For example, to add a guide on the right-hand edge of the window, I set its position to 960. The ruler shows it at 1920 (see ruler and Edit Guide box in Screenshot 4).
