Add default font settings for imported captions
Add default font settings for imported captions
If you have your subtitles done professionally they often deliver texts in a sidecar file, for example srt. This can be imported to Premiere, and you can use them as open captions in your project. You will have to change font settings for all text boxes. For a big corporation with design standards for subtitles it would be great to have the feature to change the default font settings for imported captions.7 votesCompleted ·AdminPatrick Palmer (Director of Product Management, Pro Video and Motion Design, Adobe DVA) responded

PPRO 2018: you can't install mogrt files to Essential Graphics in batch mode only one by one
Mr Developers maybe you have to work harder to solve these simple problems like this. In PPRo 2017 you could install in batch mode with only copy the folder(s). In PPRO 2018 also you can't create your own folders to oraginze your mogrt files. Congratulations!
6 votesYou can multi-select mogrts in Finder / Explorer and drag and drop them directly into the Essential Graphics Panel to install a batch all at once.

Title Backgrounds
Currently, there is no good method to include an automatic background (aka highlight) when using titles in a way that allows for easy adjustability.
One is forced to manually draw rectangles every time he wants to achieve a title with a background to it, or use an impoverished option like Open Captions where one is subject to the rigid attributes of the black bars he is presented with.

.mov import bug
Since 12.1.0 There is an import bug in which Premier will import XDCAM .mov files as audio only. It only does this with some files though.
I have not been able to find any rhyme or reason to the bug. For example, the majority of files shot on the same day, on the same camera import as audio only, except some get interpreted as video.
Previous versions of Preiemer were able to import these same files just fine. Clearing the media cache and restarting do not fix this is issue. Converting the files in Encoder to mxf fixes the problem…

indicator when source and program monitor are ganged
There should be an indicator that appears beneath both the source and program monitors when you enter "gang" mode so you can quickly see when it's on and when it's off.

Having a text box editor to replace text
Is it possible to have an alternative text box editor within the essential titles tab area to edit text seperatly without using the timeline window?
Mainly to streamline the speed of copy paste of text without the need to highlight the intended text graphic first then apply your changes.
If you could do this within a dedicated withdow for text changes much like how FCP7s text tool generator. Please please please work closely with Annotation Edit creator to interchange subtitles information via xmls smoothly!!!!
He has built something great so far, but needs your attention to perhaps allow a vertical…

Add more offers to your Creative Cloud plans
Although I've been subscribed to the All Apps plan (Student/Teachers) for over a year now, I'm one of those people who can't afford the normal All Apps plan. Would you be able to add more offers other than the Photography Plan?
For example, a Video Production plan featuring Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition and a choice between 20gb or 1tb. Maybe add Illustrator into the Photography Plan while you're at it, for those who work with art?
I think this would benefit users who don't have a lot of money to spend but doesn't need the full cloud such as…

Fix source text bug when keyframing text
I'm trying to create a typewriter effect using the type tool with source text to keyframe each character. However, when I add a new keyframe, the text starts writing backwards.

Text wrapping on type tool and proper font size option
When using the type tool, I find it hard to use and get different layers of text to match. I would like to see it more like a text box in MS Powerpoint where you would have a certain width text box and the text wraps to stay in the text box with that width and based on font size (in points) so I could have for example 12 point.
Currently, it does not wrap text and will size according to the size of the text box, regardless of the font size set.

Premiere Crash using Intel UHD 630 Driver
I'm new to Premiere this week, and on the same day as updating my Intel UHD 630 Driver, I was unable to load, clip or edit, place or playback footage. I then got in contact with Adobe, and we worked out when this Driver was disabled, Premiere worked fine. Then, rolling back the Intel driver update back to 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter', Premiere also runs smoothly. So it's something related directly to the Intel UHD 630 Driver itself.
My workflow currently depends on me constantly switching drivers as many apps don't run well with the one that's currently working for…

TC overlay & Captions don't work
There are so many posts about open captions in premiere that I am pretty sure no one is reading these posts... I'll add to the open captions frustration anyways: there is no way to render timecode overlay AND open captions on the same export. Generally, I can only make my open captions burn in on the video if I don't send the export to media encoder but directly press export in premiere. After using "Queue" to send the project to Media Encoder, the captions display as burned in on the preview window, they are not on the exported video though
