ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premier Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  1. Add a 1:1 crop proportions option in the Source tab of the Export Settings dialog.

    Hi there,

There are several presets in the Crop Proportions menu in the Source tab of the Export Settings dialog but there's no 1:1 option. Given the trend for square video, how about adding one?

  2. Nested sequences only play audio from track 1 or not at all

Each time I open Premiere, in my main sequence, which is comprised of many smaller, nested sequences, the audio from several nested sequences only plays from track 1, or not at all. The only way to fix it that I've found is going into the nested sequence, soloing an audio track, playing the video, and then unsoloing the track.

  3. Adding effects directly to video layers (Audio Track Mixer for Video layers)

Being able to add effects directly to a layer which makes all clips on that layer affected would be a huge time saver.
If you have a multicamera sequence with 3 different cameras where you want to add same grade to all clips on track 1, track 2 and track 3 seperately.

Or even being able to make adjustment layers only affect the clips on the layer directly beneath would also be amazing... (like in photoshop)

  4. Add a "monitoring resolution" for video playback of 2.39:1, etc timelines to Decklink cards with letterboxing instead of stretching

Allow the setting of a standard output resolution for external sources to facilitate the proper scaling and automatic letterboxing of the other aspect ratios being used in various timelines in a project -- like 1.66:1, 1.85:1, 2.00:1, 2.20:1, 2.39:1.

We shouldn't have to work in 16x9 timelines just to make our monitors work!

  5. Cinema Raw Light Major Bug in Premiere CC 2019

Once the playback is stopped, the brightness is extremely increased. During playback, however, it will be displayed correctly.
However, this makes a color correction impossible.

  6. So Many Problems with 12.1.1

I haven't had this many issues with Premiere since CS6. This update is simply awful and needs fixing fast!

    1. The font issue. Invalid fonts? Should have been fixed with the first complaints months ago.

    2. Rendering stalls out and you need to force quit. Re-open and render again - no problem. This shouldn't happen.

    3. When opening sequences, sometimes the track are all muted (even though the mute button isn't on). The only fix for this is to solo a track and then un-solo it and it works. But if you open a sequence and export it while tracks are invisibly muted,…

  7. Properly detect and import .avi files with multiple audio tracks

Reproduce this issue by recording an .avi with multiple audio tracks - likely with DXTory. Then import the raw video into premiere. Only one audio track will be shown. Right-clicking the footage and selecting properties shows that Premiere can see the additional audio tracks.

To use the additional tracks, install VLC media player and return to your original raw footage in windows explorer. Right-click, select 'export audio stream'. Then import those .wav files into Premiere and sync them individually against the original material.

This is TERRIBLE workflow. As someone with 4 audio sources per clip, I spend ~5 minutes exporting,…

  10. Poor Performance in Premiere Pro CC 2018 (12.1 and 12.1.1) with ProRes footage

Full report is detailed here: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/support-software/Poor-Performance-in-Premiere-Pro-CC-2018-Ver-12-1-X-with-ProRes-footage-1150/

The short of it is that with the 12.1.0 and 12.1.1 versions of Premiere Pro, I'm seeing up to 35% longer export times and up to twice as many dropped frames during live playback with ProRes 422 HQ and 4444 footage compared to version 12.0.1. As far as troubleshooting, here are the steps I have already gone through:

    1) Reinstalled Premiere Pro
    2) Reinstalled Windows 10 Pro (and Premiere Pro again)
    3) Reset Premiere Pro preferences
    4) Created fresh .prproj files
    5) Tried older GPU drivers (397.31, 390.77, and 388.71)
    6) Tried both a…

  11. Export to indvidual clips based on timeline markers

I would like to be able to export to multiple individual clips based on timeline markers. For example if I place three markers I could export four clips:

Clip 1: from start to Marker 1
Clip 2: from Marker 1 to Marker 2
Clip 3: from Marker 2 to Marker 3
Clip 4: from Marker 3 to Marker 4

It would also be useful to be able to select a sequence of clips and export those as multiple clips e.g. between Markers 1 to 4 and export the three clips.

  13. Midtone Detail/Clarity Slider - Lumetri

I would love to see the implementation of a "Midtone Detail" slider like in DaVinci Resolve. This is a super handy parameter for realistically softening skin appearance while maintaining sharpness, or vice versa bringing out detail in outdoor/scenery shots. This effect is similar to the clarity slider in Adobe Camera Raw.

  14. Allow low-res viewing (1/8 & 1/16) while in 1080. Using 4K footage in a 1080 timeline is excruciatingly slow.

I have the option to downgrade resolution to 1/8 or 1/16 if I'm working in a 4K timeline but not in a 1080p timeline.

When working in a 1080 timeline, my source footage is still 4K, and system performance suffers the same as if I'm working in 4K. I need to turn that resolution down. Help! (Thanks!)

  15. An option to remove the audio clip icon overlays for L, R, Ch. 1, Ch. 2, etc.

These are constantly covering up the waveforms, making it difficult to edit audio, unless you zoom in and/or increase the track height.
Here's in image to show just how troublesome this can be:
    https://i.imgur.com/QwzkSeO.png

The ideal solution would also have an associated shortcut, for easy toggling on/off, just as we have for audio track names.

This is item 96 on my spreadsheet.

1 keyboard shortcut to disable all tracks (video and audio ) in Track Selector regardless of the state of any of the tracks.

  18. Make Premiere Pro use the GPU when playing back Canon CRM files

Premiere Pro 14.3 and older do not use the GPU when playing back Canon CRM files on Mac OS. I have to reduce the resolution to 1/4th to get fluid playback.
Canon RAW Developer and Davinci Resolve have no problem playing back the footage at full resolution on my Macs, so the hardware should be fast enough.

  19. VBR 1 pass export produces very compressed images (Bug)

    M1 Mac (macOS 12.3), PP 22.2.0 (Build 128)

Since the latest update, the videos exported with VBR 1 pass produce very poor results on some parts of the video. Reexporting with the same settings produce the exact same result, with very compressed images on the same parts of the video.
The only solution seems to be to export in VBR 2 pass. VBR 1 pass used to deliver excellent results, but not anymore.
I added two sample images: one from a h.264, VBR 1 pass, 12 Mbps export (very poor quality) and the second one from a h.264, VBR 2…

  20. Bug when importing < 1 second clip

I am running the latest version of Premiere Pro CC on my MacBook Pro.

When I import a bunch of video files and only one of them is sub 1 second in length, the program crashes.

Seems like a pretty obvious bug to me :)
